One of the ideas I've tinkered around in the back of my head is the idea of a count-as dreadknight that is basically a Grey Knight on foot wielding a big-ass sword.

The idea came from Balgus from Escaflowne, the badass general who took on humongous mechas with a bigass sword (he lost but the giant mechas cheated with magic and science anyways, so that don't count!). These knights would channel that idea. I nicknamed them "Paragon Knights", as they would be Grey Knights who've completely dedicated themselves to the martial act of daemonhunting that they've discarded all other disciplines (yes I know this is reaching Wardian levels of fluff and steps on the toes of the Brotherhood champions but I got no better excuse )

The only problem is....Grey Knight Terminators are small. Very small compared to Dreadknights. This means the usual method of "putting them on a rock" doesn't pan out as well since it would be hard for my opponent to tell what's suppose to be a rock and what's actually suppose to be it's body.. In addition I need some excuse for the padded toughness. However I do not want to use any sort of mecha upsizing for the Paragon Knights, cuz I dislike the idea that GKs require mecha-suits to slay daemons unless they're beaten within an inch of their life. One idea I had was to mimic the Celestant Prime's model, where the Knight would stand on a swirl of energy being emitted from him. But having 3 identical swirls would be kinda weird (and stupid expensive given how costly the Prime model is) so any suggestions for alternative conversions (either alternative psychic energy or a completely different conversion involving a lone knight on a gigantic base) would be greatly welcomed.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

What about mounting layered lasercut acrylic in the shape of a psychic manifestation behind the GK, like so?

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"
