Hello,

I'm an old W40K (since V2 box set) & Space Hulk (1st edition) player.
However since I'm missing time and space (as my wife dislike having the living room table set as battlefield over one day) I much more rely on boardgame that I customize for looking like little 3D battelfield.
Just look my
dungeon crawling (Heroquest/Super Dungeon Explore) board

& Memoir'44 in Epic (normal) mode

or skirmish mode (the 3 tanks units are replaced by single bigger models with 3 hit points, elite infantry ones by 4 HP heroes)

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka, really digging those boards, how long did they take to get set up?

Not so long,
You can easily carve foam by using a metal ruler and a soldering iron.
Just pass it quickly and make sure to put extra border you will remove afterwards as to metling is always too much at the beginning and the end of the line.
The bricks are either carved in wall or made one by one.
You should get that before paint & varnish

You can also use the soldering iron to "melt" some lava holes

The column are cut in a wood stick (round section) and a foam square base is put around them for stability
Shiels are cut in a plastic bottle (because of the curve)
