Looking for some feedback on a list I'm planning to take to a no-FW 4-detachment ETC style 5 round tournament.

I have always brought a Seer council with me to big events. It is very resilient for capturing those contested objectives, helps buff your army, and is very flexible to every opponent. A reason these days I think its even more appropriate to take it is that the 14 dice base that you will usually have can stop a key power (Like an enemy fortune, invisibility, cursed earth....) and that can be critical. Especially in your list, it gives another good counterassault unit to protect your riptides,

I play in a very competitive crowd and I have seen many a good player take single Vaul batteries like you have to camp on an objective. They have all come to the conclusion that it simply doesn't work. Its very easy to remove. Dark reapers, especially only 4 like you have in a bunker, is also a waste of points. Thats like 260 points that can be spent much better elsewhere. Between that and dropping the warp spiders formation you can get a seer council. You still have enough points left over to take a single squad of warp spiders in your CAD to make make the exarch a sturdy and tricksy warlord.

Aftermath can be calculated.

The tempest launcher Reaper Exarch is amazing for removing tricksy apothecaries and hiding jetbikes (though you have a lot of SMS for that purpose...)

Why would you want Heavy Burst Cannons instead of Ion Accelerators?

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

@darkness eternal, in the uk invisibility is quite prevalent, as are deathstars. Unlike in the us, the etc doesn't comp invis to be bs1, it's still snap shots, so you can't use your ion accelerators. Hence here in the uk heavy burst cannons are more used.

@drinkgasoline, the list seems solid. A few things to note, single D cannons are great for when you're null deploying, however you have your riptides which will always be deployed, as will your dark reapers most of the time and the bunker. The D cannons are good but with such short range won't do too much, and on 4 detachment limit, invisible deathstars will be everywhere. I personally would drop;
- both vauls
- the dark reapers
- bunker
- both targeting systems
- one of the wraithknight's scatter laser
- and the spiritual stone of anath'lan
And in their place take another aspect host full if spiders.
With 3 riptides, a wraithknight, some obsec scatbikes and 30 spiders, it'll be hard to stop.

Well with reliable novacharging from the formation, and the BS boost, they become better against a lot of things. i played against an army that had seven riptides yesterday, all burst cannon. With marker light support and hail of fire they killed an entire corpsethief claw and put two wounds on a WK in a single turn of shooting.... They all had burst cannons.

While I actually like the Burstcannons better in a Tau list, Eldar have no shortage of Str6 shots. It might be worth considering at least 1 Ion cannon.

You reckon it's worth keeping the bunkerino just for the reapers?

Thanks for the comment. You don't reckon a culexus would be worth it if deathstars will be so prev?

If it's for UK ETC style event I would 100% take a cullexus.
