Hey All,

Question regarding Space Marine HQ Tanks.

Per designer note on the dataslate:

The two vehicles only take up one slot on a force organization chart, but are otherwise individual units for all rules purposes (including awarding victory points when destroyed)

Unit kills seem straight forward. For other scoring types, such as destroying an entire unit and adding their points values (war of attrition?), how would this work? You buy the tanks together for one cost, they are not listed seperately points wise. In the one tourney where this came up (only Land Raider was destroyed), it was arbitrary ruled a split 50/50 for points awarded to the other player.

Also, in the AoD formation with all vehicles, you can take HQ tanks as your warlord. The warlord trait is also dependent on the range from the warlord. Is the unit HQ tanks (both vehicles) considered the warlord, or only one vehicle. How would this be scored then for warlord kill and drawing range for big guns never tire (warlord trait)?

Thanks

They're treated as separate units for everything on the battlefield. Only one of them can be your warlord, so whichever model you pick as the warlord is the one that is considered to be your warlord. If someone has slay the warlord, they only need to kill the tank that is your warlord since he's a separate unit.

As for points value in missions... I don't think the BRB has any missions concerning points values of units. That may be something to bring up with whatever tournament organizer is creating special missions. But I could be completely wrong on that. In either case, I'd split the cost in half to determine the cost of each tank.
