I don't know if anyone else follows the NBA, but as a San Antonio native of half my life I always keep an ear to the ground when the playoffs come around. This year is looking particularly interesting.

Now, I don't give a flying feth about the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers would be by bet to win it all and they'll get smoked by whoever comes out of the Western Conference intact, barring serious injuries. LeBron has never had a decent jumper, outside of 1-2 years when he knocked down a few 3's, and his age is somehow showing prematurely. Love hasn't been a big of a factor on that team as I had initially predicted to friends and family.

Well, right now the GOAT 3-point shooter Stephen Curry is out, likely for all of this series. Between Thompson and Green I think the Warriors still have it on lock.

The most interesting matchup right now is the Spurs vs Thunder. San Antonio obliterated OKC in game 1 and proceeded to just now drop game 2 by a point. I think Durant is a pretty solid scorer and Westbrook is a certifiable All-Star, but I actually agree and I hate to say it, with Cuban's assessment that Westbrook is not a superstar. He had one hell of a year this year, that's undeniable. He's probably the best rebounding guard in the league since the Big O, but man, is he ugly to watch. He has an inconsistent jumper, no 3 to speak of, and is a turnover machine (over 4 per game this year). Yeah, he gets assists and buckets, but he relies far too much on crashing into the lane and drawing what should be out of control player fouls.

San Antonio meanwhile has the second best player in the league in Kawhi Leonard, probably the best defensive player in years, who can now drill 3's and score. He's a veritable monster. Any other year he'd have been the MVP...but Curry went unconscious for the better part of the year and scored at what I believe, I may be wrong, the most efficient rate EVER.

So right now Spurs vs Thunder looks like a toss up to me, but I'm leaning towards Spurs in 6-7 games. Aldridge is looking unstoppable through 2 games and if the rest of the Spurs can get some kind of offensive consistency going they'll be unbeatable until they face GSW.

What are your thoughts?

Pretty much the same. Spurs and Warriors for the conference final, and whoever wins that (I'm leaning towards warriors if Curry is healthy) takes the championship. Leonard and Aldridge should give the Spurs what they need to beat OKC, Aldridge especially looks like he can dominate down low.

Pretty much the same. As a spur lover I'm hoping to see them take out the warriors but if Curry is healthy that's 4 wins against arguably one of the greatest teams in NBA history. The only reason it's possible is because the Spurs are also arguably one of the best teams in NBA history with depth and experience no other team in the NBA can boast. And Aldridge is really starting to find himself in the playoffs in a way he wasn't in the regular season.

Whelp, the Raptors managed to somehow not entirely screw things up, and just barely chocked their way on into round 2...

First time in 15 years they've made it beyond the 1st round, and first time ever in franchise history they've won a game 7! (hey, it's Toronto - there's a good reason they're known as 'the city of losers'!)

Not a b-ball fan by any means myself, but living so close to The Six, it's about the only thing in the news right now.

Well thankfully Spurs won game 3, courtesy of Leonard's 31 points and Parker's suddenly expert 3 point shooting. The real story is that ball hog abomination Westbrook...he went 10-31 with 5 turnovers. Could you POSSIBLY be more selfish and hurt your team more than that? WTF goes through his head when he is playing like that?

Spurs couldn't recover and it looks like OKC is going to close it up tonight.
