Has anyone used a renegade knight in a game yet equipped with the dual Avenger Gatling cannons? If so, how did it perform? Also has anyone used Prescience on this knight?

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

Everyone looking for answers but nobody knows yet.

I'm guessing dual gatling will be decent, but beyond that I'm clueless.
Maybe bare bones pure CC rusher will also be good on simple merit of being cheap (325 sword and fist, 330 with upgrade stubber to melta)

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

RIght now I put him into a list of Orks as an ally. I am eager to see the results this saturday when I play him.

Its a bully boy list featuring zhadsnark bikers backed by the knight with twin dakka cannons or w/e the 12 shot things are called. I also have the classic gretchin surrounding the knight so it cant be locked down unless I want it to or they do the IMPOSSIBLE and kill my 10 gretchin and 1 runtherd.

Haha, rad, I run almost the exact same set up. Bikerstar, bullyboyz, gretchin. I throw in a VSG too, but that might change with the new FAQ.

Another idea I had was taking the renegade knight bare bones alongside a cheap buzzgob stompa for two super heavies marching up the field laying down a lot of D and stomps followed by biker boyz.

I got the set to use with my Tau. Why? because the Stormsurge is TOO good. And Imperial allies are desperate as well. And I tend to play 3 player games lately. I can make them available to my opponents - 1 plays necrons and the other plays Nids\Guard

Personally, I'm a greater fan of the dual battle cannons though.

Also, not cool bumping your own thread.

Well, it worked, didn't it?

Can't argue with results.

But I have tried out the Dual Gatling cannon knight and it was pretty good. Definitely worth practicing with a few more times. I don't think that's any sort of revelation though. The only thing about him is that it is pretty expensive, and with an army like KDK where MSU is best, that point investment cuts down on the number of units you can field, which in turn allows your units to be focused down- resulting in a net loss. That said it provides good shooting at least. Also looking to try out the dual battle cannon one. I advise using the autocannon carapace weapon too. The 3 shot Krak missile launcher meshes well with both battle and gatling cannons but the autocannon gives some much needed AA ability.

I used it as an ally today to my bully boyz and zhadsnark biker army. It tanked a great deal of fire due to it's threatening presence. I played against a skyhammer and blood angel list. It tanked the majority of the impact allowing the Meganobz to be mostly unmolested in their journey to the enemy. I had it armed with dual assault cannon thingies so it mowed down marines and even kicked a drop pod to death. He didn't pay for himself point wise in sheer killing power but the fire he tanked ensured the Ork victory.

So far it's just been one game but I found he provided highly useful accurate fire for the Orks and required a ton if firepower on him for him to go down which in this case he never did. I find the renegade knight brings powerful weapons and has a large physical and psychological footprint in the game and that's exactly what was needed.

To compare it to buzz gobs stompa it's far squishier and a bit more expensive (assuming you don't upgrade the stompa or give it a Mek inside to repair in which case it would cost a lot more) it's far more reliable and is i4 so it could likely Smash stuff before they get to smash the knight.

Atm I prefer the knight to the buz stompa. I look forward to trying it out further.

I ran 2 of these today with my Infernal Tetrad army list I'm playing at a GT.

They are very sup-par. The reason is that people know exactly how to deal with it. Knights are not some 'shocking new development'. In every game today my opponent's had the tools to deal with the knights. Melta, tons of scat bikes, etc.

They did some good, but I would rate them as closer to 250 points of value instead of 325.
