Members of Turkey's governing AK party and pro-Kurdish politicians have traded blows in parliament over plans to strip MPs of their immunity from prosecution.
The brawl erupted as a committee met to discuss the government-backed changes to the constitution.
Some parliamentarians launched themselves into the melee from a table, others threw water or aimed punches.
The opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) say the move is aimed at stifling dissent.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has called for members of the pro-Kurdish HDP to face prosecution, accusing them of being an extension of the banned Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
Several parliamentarians were injured in the fighting.
A session last week on the constitutional changes also broke up in violence.

Blimey eh ?

.. and not a Palin involved

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all

Reminds me of home.
But I must say these brawls are even better than those in the Ukr parliament. The guy standing on the chair in the end is just brilliant. And kudos to the gentleman who wrestled his way right through the fight in order to help get the girl out of it.

What Kurds in turkey? There are only loyal Turkish patriots in Turkey.

Also, Cyprus......

Listen all! This is the truth of it. Fighting leads to killing, and killing gets to warring. And that was damn near the death of us all. Look at us now! Busted up, and everyone talking about hard rain! But we've learned, by the dust of them all... Bartertown learned. Now, when men get to fighting, it happens here! And it finishes here! Two men enter; one man leaves.

Aye... NATO member Turkey surely has legitimate beef with the Kurds, unlike say Saddam in Iraq or the Iranian and Syrian regimes. Terrorists when they fight our "friends", freedom fighters when fighting the bad guys.

I've never understood why we treat Turkey so much better.

They buy oil off Isis, the president is pretty much a dictator at this point and we reward thme.

And the only one with the balls to call that bastard Erdogan's bluff is Vlad Putin. And Putin is demonized as a result.

As far as his association with ISIS, that was no surprise considering his Islamist background and moves toward Neo-Ottomanism.

We need to expel Turkey from NATO and cut U.S. military aid. Let them float or sink on their own.

I'm in favour of kicking Turkey out of NATO too. Since they're bound to join the EU, I want out of that as well.

Somewhat related, the Turkish prime minister has resigned for unclear reasons. Rumour has it that he disagreed with Erdogan's growing personal power.
