Bad moonz or Iydanden!

I'm trying to choose between these two yella fellas! My main opponent is tau... And skitarri. Would you say it would eventually be more fun playing with Eldar as I'd really struggle with orks, or would you say it's more rewarding playing with a lower tier army?

Which would you guys want to fight??

Honestly: If you don't mind a serious challenge and losing a lot, then go Orks. They're so much more fun and entertaining, especially with the 3,000+ point games. However, if you want a relatively easy win, go with Eldar.

Orks. Generally funner to fight, and you can bring anything without being called cheesy or TFG.

Eldar unfortunately have a bad reputation due to all their units being good or great, and you have to tone down most of your lists unless an opponent calls for a competitive level list.

I would love a A tpical eldar list with based on scorpions or banshees and with little shooting.

Orks are generally funner to fight because they die en mass to just about any other race except fellow low tiers.

If you really don't care about winning even the slightest then orks. If at some point you want to win an occasional game then Eldar, but be prepared to try and make bad terrible Eldar lists if your meta is slanted towards the casual spectrum. If you win all the time then no one will play with you.

You have chosen two very extremely opposite power factions to start so choose wisely.

Play eldar, avoid spiders and jetbikes, max 1 wk at 1850~ and no one SHOULD be bitching after all the buffs to the popular armies. Orks are fun but theres only so much fun you can have pulling literal handfuls of models off the table after one turn.

Orks actually have a pretty decent biker star option, and can even spam MSU biker units ala scatbike spam if you want.

Orks can be okay in a competitive environment, it's just that you have 4 worthwhile units in the whole book and you have to spam the gak out of them. Luckily you can pretty much do whatever you like with your list as an ork and not have to deal with complaints.

I played Eldar back in 3rd Ed. I play Orks now. I enjoy Orks more. They feel like they actually have personality.

I play both, but I have more orks. Orks are tons of fun to play and model but most games feel like an uphill battle. It really depends on the type of players you go up against and how much they like their cheese.

As far as eldar honestly if you don't spam d-weapons/spiders/scatbikes I think its fine. I mean there are plenty of units to choose from that wont make everyone buthurt, its just that nobody does it. (because winning > people's enjoyment is the general name of the game in 40k sadly).

I'd go eldar (just because I like them more, lol) but make sure to either have a nice themed list, or at least tone down your lists so you can actually play games outside of tournies. There's nothing worse than someone who's playing 40k just to win.

I'd go Eldar, if Tau are going to be a regular opponent then they have no right to call out Eldar cheese as they have plenty of it themselves.

If you're looking to run Iyanden try the Wraith Host formation, don't give them transports though (at least at first) as with that many D weapons you want to give your opponent a chance, and then fill out a CAD for the rest of the army, things like Dire Avengers and Striking Scorpions will do nicely.

Avoid Jet bike spam like the plague, outside of a tornement it's completely unacceptable unless you're going to severly limit the number of heavy weapons you take on them.
