Hey all,

I'm thinking of making up a few orcish wound markers for my Kings of War army, which means I'll be needing to paint a few dead/dying orcs.

While I've found a fair few good articles on how to paint standard red blood, I've always been fond of the black-blooded orc concept like in Lord of the Rings. The trouble is, I haven't found a tutorial anywhere on how one would go about painting black blood. As a relatively inexperienced painter, I'm not entirely sure how to go about this. Just use black inks/watered down black paint? Mix some paint and have a very dark red or green instead of straight black?

Your thoughts on how to go about this would be very much appreciated!

Thanks,

Lach

I'd use blood for the blood god with a black ink through it - maybe a touch of brown ink as well.

It can't be straight black because it will look weird imho, you will want at the very least some brown in there.
