Hello, a few question about the chaos sorcerer cabal please.
1. Do the sorcerers have to form one unit or can they be split and each join a different unit?
2. If they can be split do they each get the power to cast to take over a enemy unit for shooting? So it can be cast multiple times in that case?
Thanks

1. I can't find a restriction that requires them to be a unit together, especially because...
2. As it says in the formation datasheet, you pick one, they get to attempt to cast the special power, and you get a free extra dice in the attempt for each sorcerer from this formation within 12" of the caster.
So since there's such a large range for the free dice and there's no requirement other than it being a black legion formation, I would say they can split up. And it's pretty explicitly stated that one sorcerer gets to cast the spell at the start of the phase. Keep in mind that means you either cast it first or waive your ability to do so, as well.

If they are independent characters, you just follow the rules for independent characters

I'm trying to find an effective way to use this formation and I'm pretty sure I can use it as a formation with my KDK army right? even though its a black legion formation? I'm not 100% sure if that's accurate.
I'm trying to figure out what kind of units I could attach these guys to. I know I can't attach them to any chaos daemons units due to instability but I wasn't sure about KDK. Sorcerers can't take a MOK so maybe I can't put them with any KDK units at all?

I think they can even join the KDK unit even if they are marked.
Mark of X is different than Daemon of X.
As stupid as it sounds, you could mark them all with Slaanesh and have them join a unit of Bloodcrushers.

You can indeed join a KDK unit if you are unmarked, and if you are Marked you can join KDK Daemon units (so your Slaanesh Sorcerer can ride with Flesh Hounds, but not Khorne Bikers).
Take a look at the list posted over at FLG here for some insight on how to run it: https://www.frontlinegaming.org/2016/04/29/broadside-bash-2016-tournament-blog/
