Prior to the last update for the Legion's book i had been working on a PoTL list for my iron warriors. With the switch of the tyrants from elite into heavy support i was alittle discouraged that what i had been working on was no longer a possibility, and i was working on figuring out what to do with the 20 terminators i had built up. My two thoughts where, Paint one up for each legion, or re work the list.. So.. i've reworked the list and i want to see what people think of what i've come up with.

Legion Astartes: Onslaught FOC: 2500 pts total.

Erasmus Golg

Legion Terminator Squad:
10, 2x Plasma Blaster

Contemptor-Cortus Talon
2 dreads, both with 2 twinlinked vokite

Dereado Dreadnought
Aiolos system

Leviathan Siege Dreadnought
Grav-Flux Bombard

Tyrant Terminators
10

Tyrant Terminators
10

As this list stands here, im at 2470, and not sure what to do with my last 30 points. Alternatively, i could also swap the two contemptors, and the dereado to fill out the Leviathan talon to a full three, all with the bombards. Thoughts?

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

I think this is one instance where big squads are gonna cost you badly, taking out 3 terminator squads isnt gonna be difficult with ap2 everywhere and each one down is going to matter so much more than it would to a marine heavy army.

Not trying to be overly negative but I think my 2500 pt Mechanicum list would shoot that off the table in 3 turns without a lot of hide and seek style play on your part. I would drop a dread and find points for a Spartan to throw your HQ and a squad of terminators in.

Personally, I'd ditch the deredeo, and try and find points to squeeze in a tactical squad or two. not as durrable as a few terminators, but they have the bodies + target saturation + the ability to tie up deadly things in CC for a turn or two.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

I'm going to go the other way and say double down with the Deredeo and go for the more unique build you're trying for. Try taking the atomatic pervaise shield generator to boost the invulnerable saves of any terminators or contemptors within 3". Between that and cover, you'll only rely on the invulnerable save when you're in the open and can otherwise mitigate much of the damage of AP2. It will make a nice backfield pair of units that has a degree of move and shoot or while you can't make it into a single unit it will give you something moving around and functioning kinda like a deathstar.
