So last night, I was looking around the GW web store doing a little wishlisting. I've been thinking about eventually building an Imperial Guard (Astramilawhatum? You're in the Guard, son.) armored battalion. Vehicles received a (minor) buff with the FAQ grenades-in-assault ruling, and I think it's a slightly more viable build now. I came across this bundle that I've never noticed before. When did they come out with the LR Tech-Command? The biggest deterrent to me buying this list has always been a lack of plastic enginseer models! I had always planned to buy some Skitarii Rangers/Vanguard and doing some kitbashing, but here we have a nice, convenient combo kit.

Damn. How did I miss it? Probably because I tend to filter the store by Force Org slot, and the kit doesn't seem to be under any of them (probably because it contains an HQ and a Heavy Support).

If your decision is entirely based on a first draft faq still in the works then you are taking a chance on thin ice. Particularly that one. Might be the most contested of all the current rulings in that, and I'll repeat, First Draft.

It came out with the Mont'ka book, so...February or thereabouts?

It's intended to be an easy way for you to add a Tank Commander to an Emperor's Fist Armoured Company(since that also requires a Techpriest Enginseer).

I don't buy armies for the rules, I buy them because I like the models and lore. I was just pointing out that the recent ruling would strengthen the list slightly.

Also, the FAQ is a 1st draft, but they aren't asking for feedback on the actual rules, just on the clarity of the wording. I doubt we'll see many changes to the actual rulings.
