I've somehow recently started an 8th edition lizardmen army, (I blame a clearance sale at a local shop, can't pass up a bargain) and am looking at picking up the thunderbeast host gw have released. I'll have to pick up some square bases, anybody know what the correct sizes for all the lizardmens big stuff is? Also does anywhere other than gw do large sized square plastic bases?

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

IIRC all the big plastic LM monsters were on chariot bases (50x100mm). The ripperdactyls in that set were on 40mm squares.

You might be able to find some on eBay, but it'll be much easier to find them in MDF, and no doubt for cheaper. Shout out to Green Stuff World for a combination of speed, price and quality, and since they're in Spain they should get to you pretty swiftly as well: http://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/square-bases/263-mdf-wood-laser-cut-bases-rectangle-chariot-100x50mm.html

Cheers for the info.
I'll probably just order the bases from GW for now. My fear is they will disappear from their site at some point in the future.
