Hi all,

Our group mentioned its going to give Mordheim a go so started looking at warbands.

Pretty set on the Orcs and Goblins or Black Orcs as ive never played orcs in any of GWs systems.

One question I had (and im sure as it goes on ill have more) is the armor like how fantasy was?

Shield is a 6+ save, light is a 6+ and heavy is a 5+. So if I use a shield and heavy armor im at a 4+ yea?

I see the Black orc warboss has a natural 6+ armor that combines with any other equipment or gear so in heavy and a shield hes a 3+ then also yea?

Armour is similar but so over priced that it is of limited use to a starting warband. It is also easy to negate armour saves to boot. There's lots of strength enhancing weapons about, Handguns and Crossbows(?) are armour piercing plus there's plenty of opportunities to hire high strength creatures too.

A buckler is more cost effective for the parry gained than a armour save.

That's said in the extreme in the case of your BO Warboss a 3+ might be quite handy but it would cost a fair few GPs. That said an Ogre or Vampire with a 2H weapon will have him rolling a 6+ so it can be a bit situational at best.

Thanks for the reply!

I had another questions... as im thinking Sisters of sigmar for a second band.

This also applies to some other weapons but..

If I have two blessed war hammers that give +1 str, does it go to +2? Or is it just if im using the weapon that gives +1 str I keep it at +1 and just gain the extra attack?

Each attack will be with alternate weapons plus weapon abilities do not stack with each other either.

So in your example, assuming you had caused two hits the first hit (attackers choice of what weapon goes first) would be with a S+1 hammer and the second would be with a S+1 hammer.

If they had a Hammer and a Knife; the first hit could be with the S+1 hammer the second would have to be with the Knife - so no bonus. If you caused three hits it would be Hammer, Knife, Hammer.

Shields and armour are something you will be able to find during campaign play, if you don't want to spend the gold coins for them at the start. That said, I always gave my important characters some sort of armour save... Helps a ton against all the ranged attacks (throwing daggers, slings, bows etc).
