The new Cube looks pretty cool. The pics are not great but it looks like we get another version of the Queen There also appears to be a tech, Borg upgrade, and an elite talent. According to the article it also includes a cooperative scenario for 1-5 players. If you look at the token sheets included it looks like the cube will have 150 hull and 150 shields in the coop mission A lot of folks major complaint about the last cube was that it was too easy to take out. I think this one will live up to expectations.

The huge pluse to this Cube is that it is the same cost as the other and also comes with an additional Sphere model Two ships for one cost, definitely worth it.

Personally I am really looking forward to this one. I have already told the wife it's what I want from the kids for Father's day

It looks like the cost and stats for the Cube itself might be different.

Though with a third Queen pending, I have a question: can we field both queens? I mean, there are MULTIPLE queens in the Collective last I checked...

Yeah I have been wondering if it cost the same as the other cube. The other one is 82 points. From the crappie pic I can't tell if the new one is 52, 62, or 82 Maybe someone with younger eyes can make it out .

As for the Queen, technically we don't know if they are all activated at one time or one wakes up when a Queen is lost But it would make sense to be able to have more than one active at a time. In game terms they are all unique so you can only have one in a list. But this will make our 4th Queen

We have a:

Skill 7 with Queen's Vessel Prime

Skill 8 with Tactical Cube 138

Skill 9 with Tactical Cube 001

From looking at the Borg tokens on the new cube this Queen will be skill 6 there are tokens to have 1-6 AND 1-4. So that would be a skill 6 Queen and possibly a skill 4 Drone.

From a canon point of view I appreciate that they made the Queen(s) unique. Even if we could assume that there is more than one, we never saw two of them at once. And they were always just "the Queen", not the "Queen from subsector 47" or sth. like that. It seems like there is ever only one queen active at a time, even though it is replacable. Just like Weyoun, where one could argue to not make him unique, since we even had an episode with two of them at once .
I wasn't really interested in the first cube, but with a look at the scenario and the sphere this one got me interested.

I am really looking forward to the scenario. I try and throw together a game against the regular cube at 150 hull and shields while we wait for the release

I am really interested in it. I think it will be a great situation, especially for co-operative play against an NPC ship.

Not only is the new Cube awesome looking it has been rebalanced to be 52 points Hopefully WK is working on an errata for the first one and we will start seeing these bad boys at OPs

The new Queen is cool, a great way to save some points over Assimilation Tubules.


The Tac Drone is a bit meh, spending two drone tokens to steal a enemy token and turn it into a scan is ok, but on a skill 4 you won't get to use it much.

The "I am the Borg" talent is good for 3 points, to give all friendly ships within range 1-2, +1 attack

Temporal Vortex is pricey but could be fun in the right situation.

Hopefully "Borg Support Vehicle Port" is a sign of things to come with the games first 0 cost upgrade

Sphere 936 isn't bad, you get a -2 point discount on an upgrade and it looks like it has an advantage when using the Support Vehicle Port.


This looks like a fun pack, between the rebalance of the points and two ships for one price, this pack is worth the $$

I agree 100%. The Ship is fantastic, and the bonus co-op scenario is pretty cool. I still take issue with the elite talents as a discard, but it has its uses.

Can you imagine this beast used in Wrath of Kahn?

Side Note; Does a support ship count as part of your two ship minimum?

The article points out that a ship with 7 or less hull deployed as a Borg Support Vessel gets -10 points and -15 for a sphere. That means you could still take this monster cube and a Sphere and have some points leftover for upgrades That could be fun

The sphere is what we saw on screen but I like the idea of using the Soong as a support vessel

I've only just seen this. A massive improvement over the original giant cube, both in terms of the model and the rules.

I'm gona have to use this in a OP at some point. Also this might be the first scenario included with a ship that I'll play.
