So, I got a GW spray can of mechanicus standard grey a while ago. Used it for the first time last week and it turned out fine.
Today however, despite giving it a thorough shaking it doesn't work anymore. Nothing comes out the end, besides the occasional drip of paint, which went all over my hand.
Considering how bloody expensive they are, fingers crossed I can get a free replacement from my local GW tomorrow.
The can was stored inside, at the recommended kind of temperature, so I don't see why this would happen, but if anyone has any answers or similar experiences please do share.

Could be the nozzle is blocked. Try getting a sewing needle and see if you can unblock it. Also after use you are meant to hold the can upside down and press the nozzle until it blows clear.

I've been having the same problem with black primer recently. The white and grey stuff I've bought work just fine, but every can of black, regardless of make, has problems.

Yeah it might be a clogged nozzle. Could also be out of gas, but that's unlikely if it's a new can and worked fine last week. Slipstream wrote:Also after use you are meant to hold the can upside down and press the nozzle until it blows clear.
People have always told me this, blow the paint out of the nozzle after each use.... I've never done it as it seems like a waste of paint and propellant and I've also never had a clogged nozzle, even on cans I haven't used for years at a time, go figure But if I did come across a can that seemed susceptible to clogging I would be sure to clear out the nozzle on that specific can after each use.

I've actually taken to pulling the nozzle of after use and giving it a quick belt of compressed air, just to be safe, as I had a bit of a rash of clogged nozzles...

If the nozzle is stuffed, you might be able to buy a separate nozzle to suit the can from graffiti suppliers (I've got one around the corner from me) - a wide range of different pattern sizes and shapes, too.

I took it back to the shop. Turned out there was something up with the can itself, not the nozzle, like there was a lump inside...

Glad to hear it was resolved! Was it a manufacturing defect or something had gone awry during storage?
