Hello,

First time posting in this section but I was wondering if you guys have any ideas on how to do smoke exhaust for an imperial knight and also smoke trails for flying debris. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Smoke for exhausts is almost always cotton wool (use very little) and teased into shape. Good for display, but terrible for gaming - it's extremely fragile.

Flying debris (I assume you mean for the debris to be supported by the 'smoke') is usually sponge pieces (clump foliage, home made or otherwise) over a wire core, spray painted. This is actually more robust (especially if you can get away with shorter / thicker wire cores) and more suitable for gaming, provided you can transport the complete model easily enough. This does look very very dense - it's not 'wispy' like the cotton wool method, so if you're trying to have it look soft or steamy, rather than thick smoke, this really doesn't work so well. Does lend itself well to flying big chunks, missile or jump pack contrails, flamer spurts, etc.

Steel wool is another option. You can sometimes hide a metal rod in the middle of the steel wool to support items that might be heavy.

Do you means something like these?
It's clump foliage on a rod then painted to look like smoke.

those are awesome Gundor! I'd love to do that eventually. Thanks for the small tutorial in there about how to do it, too. Totally stealing
