So I was thinking and came to an odd thought, what do marines wear when they are not in power armor? Simple robes? Sci fi jumpsuits? Ad-mech sanctified space sivvies? I personally really like the idea of them wearing highly ornate versions of imperial guard uniforms, (sized up a bit of course). But anyways is there any art of this? Models? Fluff? I really want to know

the novels suggest robes. with that in mind I suspect it varies from chapter to chapter. I doubt Ultramarines and Space Wolves have the same off duty dress

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

True, my guess would be the white scars would wear leather jackets.

in 'Horus Rising' it mentions marines wearing: loin cloths (late at night, while polishing armour), robes (when wandering around not wanting to be recognized), and in one case, it mentions a marine wearing a black shirt, so I assume before they got all religious, they had fairly standard fatigues of sorts when not in armour.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

There is artwork of a marine kneeling while chapter serfs start to apply the armor.

The RT-era books have great illustrations of that kind of stuff... gene seed being implanted, captains chilling out on their battle barges, etc. I bet some clever Google Image searches could turn up something. Rogue Trader, Compendium, Compilation, with the black & white filter applied?

Don't forget they also have the black carapace that allows them to interface with their armor. Most go with robes and etc as they are usually always in their armor(besides a bolter/cc weapon it's the most holiest thing to them) so there's not a high demand for XXXXXLarge clothing.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I believe one of the Horus Heresy books also mentioned one of them being in his fatigues, but I'd have to reread them all to find it.
