Hey everyone. I recently got into 30K via BAC. Here is my first list comprised of mostly models I already own. I've never played a game of 30k or 40k, so hopefully this will be a fluffy / balanced list to play and learn with.

The idea is to have the Terminators deep strike with Polux's ability and take out special unit's. The Breachers will be used as an all-around unit, being able to take out vehicles with their melta guns or just be that annoyance on the table being in the land raider. The Vets will drive around in their rhino and be where they are required. The Contemptor provides some fire support or deal with light armoured vehicles. Lastly the two vindicators will be able to put down some pie plates and hopefully remove larger infantry units.

This is my first attempt at list building, so let me know what you think.

I'm working on my own Imperial Fist Legion with Knight allies at the moment, and there are a few things I'd do differently:

I'd give Power of the Machine Spirit to the Vindicators, it's 25 points each...but it lets you move your tanks at cruising speed and shoot, which is pretty big. I think that makes their effective range 36 inches.

Also if you're doing Double Kheres, I'd run it as a Contemptor Mortis. It's cheaper AND if you don't move in your turn you gain Interceptor and Skyfire. So think of it as a poor man's Tau Riptide. Bonus: you don't even have to change the model because they look exactly the same.

Both of these ideas might help...and best of all you don't have to change your models at all. Good luck!

I was always curious about the differences between the dreadnoughts.
Okay so If I change the dread and drop the two Vexilla's, I can add machine spirit's to both the Vindicators.

Remember that Fists can give their terminators deep strike, so you could buy that for the terminators and use Pollux to give the breachers deep strike.

I'd say ditch PotL, as it's only hurting you with this list. Your vet. tactical could run just as well as a tactical squad, and you can run a normal list WITHOUT giving your opponent extra points when they kill your 10-man squad + terminators

The Templar Brethren replace the terminators and can be deep striking with Polux's ability, or switch the Land Raider from the breachers to the Templars and deep strike the breachers. Hopefully this can take advantage of Fury of the Legion with the Tactical Marines and Imperial fists special bolter rules. Also the rhino's are available for some protection from blasts.

Last question for you guys regarding Polux. If he joined the Templar Brethren, would he be able to deep strike with them?

IIRC Polux can't deepstrike with the unit, which kinda sucks. You would think he would be able to...

I'd put 9x Templar Brethren in the Land Raider with Polux, and deepstrike the breacher squad on an objective. With those points, you might consider adding a Solarite Power Gauntlet on the Templar Brethren Sergeant. I am not a fan of the Vexilla, but I have also failed a lot of morale checks...

This army will struggle against Terminators if your vindicators eat it, so protect them or deploy them carefully.

Sorry, the Sergeant did have a Solarite, I forgot to write it down (now edited). Yeah I like the idea of the Templars and Polux in the Land Raider. Now they can assault out of the vehicle instead of being shot off when they deep stroke.

Also by taking out a Templar, I was able able to give both tactical sergeants Power Fists.

I would consider taking he Vexilla over the artificer armour. It's ten points, but as stated above, I too fail morale checks. They have been a big help.

Quick question. Did you spend points on the extra twin bolters on the Rhinos? If so, keep the artificer armour, drop the extra twin bolters and put in the vexilla.

If that were the case they would actually be worth taking!!! Sadly its only a 6+ invul from shooting attacks, and a 5+ invul in close combat.

There is a RoW that increases their toughness by 1 if at least 3 models with breacher/storm shields remain in coherency.

Does Alexis Polux Ability override the Stone Gauntlet RoW limitation?

Stone Gauntlet Limitation:
"Detachments using this RoW may not deploy models using the Deep Strike rule (and units which deploy by this method therefore cannot be chosen as part of the detachment"

Alexis Polux Void Commander:
"One infantry unit with the Legiones Astartes (imperial fists) special rule in an army containing Alexis Polux may gain the Deep Strike Special rule.

No, I don't think it would override it. To be fair, it's only a single Infantry unit - the toughness buff more than makes up for it.

I think the ROW takes precedence. You shall not pass deep strike.
