Hey folks,

My regionals list is set for Saturday (not San Diego ) is set so I'm going back to some of my old tricks, list tinkering with odd and unused pilots...

===================
Echoes Of The 181st
===================

100 points

------

Tetran Cowall (29)
TIE Interceptor (24), Veteran Instincts (1), Royal Guard TIE (0), Autothrusters (2), Targeting Computer (2)

“Echo” (37)
TIE Phantom (30), Intelligence Agent (1), Decoy (2), Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

Juno Eclipse (34)
TIE Advanced (28), TIE/x1 (0), Veteran Instincts (1), Engine Upgrade (4), Advanced Targeting Computer (5)

With some planning, I should be able to keep echo within decoy range of one or both of the others allowing her to shoot before the opposition and ideally allowing Juno to push through the critical hits. Tetran was the other pilot I could find points for able to get to ps9 , and the k-turn ability is a bonus, especially with Intel agent

What do y'all think? Where's the glaring weaknesses that I don't see? What changes would you make?

It's a clever idea, having Echo with decoy, but I think you're probably sacrificing too much to make the other ships only mediocre. Echo wants Fire Control System, and Aces want PTL. I think you'd be better of Pairing him with the Decimator and Rear Admiral Chiraneau with VI. Decimator has a larger base to keep in range, and is going to be much happier shooting last. Otherwise, I'd lean towards a better ace, like PTL Soontir Fel or Vader, and then having Omega Leader with VI, as the third ship to bounce PS off.

Also I understand taking Intelligence Agent to try and anticipate where high PS ships are going to be, but I think if you can free up the points, Mara Jade works better. In the games I've played with her on the Phantom, she's very disruptive for opponents. She kind of knocks other ships onto a downward slippery slope. Once she gets near anything, she starts dropping stress, and then it's like dominoes falling over. It's easier to get behind stressed ships, and then you can just keep dropping stress on them so they can't turn to face you. Stressed ships don't last long once a Phantom with Fire Control System gets locked behind them.

I do like seeing Juno and Echo on the table, and I think the Decoy+Intel Agent combo has merit. However, Tetran Cowall is a painfully terrible pilot who will just act as dead weight on your list, even as a PS source for Decoy.

Since you're tinkering with less-used pilots, and you have PS manipulation mechanics, I would try using Epsilon Ace. A PS12 phantom can joust VI Vader, and it forces your opponent to split fire between the Phantom and Epsilon Ace if they want to shut down that combo. As a fourth ship, I would add in Chaser, who can act as a blocker for the rest of your ships, and will generate free focus tokens when your aces spend them.

I would also give Echo FCS, and ditch the EU on Juno.

Juno Eclipse (28)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Advanced Targeting Computer (1)
TIE/x1 (0)

"Echo" (30)
Decoy (2)
Fire-Control System (2)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

"Epsilon Ace" (17)

"Chaser" (14)

Total: 100

Ooooh, I'd totally overlooked the possibilities of Epsilon Ace; that's moderately feindish!
