I see references in other rules that make me think that they possibly can, but I can't find it explicitly stated anywhere.

Can all skimmers deep strike? Specifically wondering about Tau piranhas, skyrays, and devilfish.

A quick look at the skimmer rules doesn’t show them getting it automatically.

Skimmers cannot Deep Strike simply by virtue of being a Skimmer, something else has to give them that ability, which is relatively rare. Keep in mind that Skimmers arent necessarily flight capable aircraft.

are you dark elder or elda allied to dark elder... and did you bring a webway portal? not sure any other way to do it

It makes sense, but the skimmer in question must have a rule allowing it to.

AFAIK, only Land Speeders and Eldar flavours have it

Also Necron monoliths, don't forget about them.

But of the Tau skimmers non of them can deep strike.

All DE skimmers, Necron Monoliths, Land Speeders, Eldar Falcons (only in units of 3), and Tzeentch Burning Chariot

I can't think of any other Skimmers that can Deep Strike

When I read that I thought for sure you were wrong. The Eldar must have more skimmers then that that can DS!

A quick thumb through the codex corrected that idea quickly. Not that I ever did/would DS half those things, but I honestly thought Vypers and everything based on the Falcon could DS.

Yep, only the Falcons. And only in full squadrons. But when they DS, they don't scatter and can be placed within 4' of each other instead of in b2b contact. Falcon really needed this since every other Grav-tank was better in some way. Imagine 3 Falcons, each with a Fire Dragon unit inside (Aspect Host, of course) dropping down and vaporizing 4 enemy tanks

They’ll need the no scatter and the 4” wiggle room though. The footprint on 3 Falcons is HUGE.It won’t take much bubble wrap to keep them at arm’s length. And you are paying 400ish points, just for the tanks. Which will get to shoot one thing a turn, which they will, admittedly probably overkill.

The Falcon squad stuck me as one of those things that could be a lot of fun in a 3,000+ point apoc game, but a little to unwieldy at normal points (1,500-1,850). But a lot of the tank squadrons are like that, honestly. Just too many eggs in one basket, even if you get some neat tricks.

I do love me some grav tanks though. Mmmmmm.

Corsairs can give their vehicles a Deep Strike upgrade.
