About time we saw some additional iconic ships.

Nice to see Armada getting some more love. Right now I'm playing it more than I play X-Wing. It really is a great game.

How do you reconcile the fact that there are 6 moving rounds but only 5 firing rounds? I just don't get it.

And the Interdictor-class looks to be a tank. 9 Hull? 5 Engineering? Got Motti in your fleet?

Because winning doesn't necessarily mean destroying all of your opponent's ships.

True. My friend only plays classic fleet engagements. He doesn't feel mission objectives add much to the game. Since I've only played once, I can't tell.

Is it possible missions are much more crucial to Armada than X-wing?

Your friend has a misunderstanding about the core theme of the game; missions are kinda the point of Armada. Deathmatches are okay, but the missions add a layer of strategic depth that just shooting each other doesn't have.

I think he overestimates his English reading skills, and the mission rules have him scratching his head. And I say that with all the love I feel for him.

Happy to see more in the pipeline for Armada, and happy to see they are continuing with EU ships.

Does anyone else think that the admiral they aren't showing for the Interdictor is Thrawn?

I am currently thinking there is a good chance it might be him, for a variety of reasons (Interdictors first appeared in Heir to the Empire and the ship messes with your opponent, which would be fitting as an admiral ability for Thrawn)

The missions are a big deal. Rebel fleets built around lighter ships specialise in getting in, doing one thing, and running like hell - the fact that they only have to avoid contact for.... say 2-3 rounds after the 'first pass' gives them a fighting chance of doing so.

Certainly, some fleets become much, much more competitive when you factor in certain objectives (or at least, when you factor in making your opponent scared to chose certain objectives).

Facing Major Rhymer and a bomber wave with Precision Strike in play is not fun at all.
