I just read through the Iron Warriors fluff and I have to say it is pretty stellar compared to the Iron Hands fluff (I am trying to decide between the two armies). I have a 40k Iron Hands army because I dig the whole cybernetic look. I was assuming I would just go that route for 30k. But their fluff is just so static and bland.

Iron Hands are pretty cool in the Heresy, however in game they mainly shine not because of legion special rules, but because of special units are a unique rite of war.

If you play Iron Hands in 30k/HH you will be playing an army that has tough as nails infantry and good synergy with tanks.

Iron Warriors are going to be of a more offensive and shooty army while the Iron Hands will be more defensive.

TOO MUCH CHAOS!!!

Use the Iron Hands models with some modification for Iron Warriors. They weren't adverse to some bionics either. I much prefer the Iron Warriors to the Hands too, so that's probably what I'll do with mine. Plus IW get the awesome new Iron Circle

The Iron Warriors were known for the fact their geneseed allowed them to rarely rejected bionic implants. Because of this and their crazy high rate of attrition, I always imagined they had alot of bionics. Like a guy get's blown apart from a stray artillery round, and the apothecary slaps him back together with bonics. They then send the poor sod back out to do it all over agien.

Plus paint scheme for IW is sooo much nicer than black...

I find the IH to be a fairly boring legion both rules wise and appearance. IW have ok rules, super cool units and look good on the field. That and it isn't hard to make them look really good.

Can you tell what I look for in a force by my descriptions here?

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs
For the love of God, GW, get rid of reroll mechanics. ALL OF THEM!

They're not a legion I particularly care about, but after Istvaan 5 they get much, much more interesting.

Between the Keys of Hel and the various techno-nightmares they spawn, Autek Mor's campaign of revenge and being the prime Shattered Legion, and the general fanaticism and zealotry I find a lot to like. Problem is, all of that happens after the dropsite massacre, and none of it is represented in the rules.

Maybe one day they'll get a RoW that focuses on the use of the Keys of Hel. Proper revenant alchemy on a wide scale, zombie battle-automata, revived legionaries and horrific techno weapons. What they do have right now is more understated. Like the Imperial Fists they do vanilla units very well. Superior Dreadnoughts and vehicles, terrifying Praevians, and resilient infantry. It's just that when everyone else is getting more firepower, having more defenses seem boring in comparison.

As for being painted all black... well, that's just a simple and straightforward way to do it. The oily, pearlescent paint jobs using a metal base and various clears colors are pretty amazing.

8000 points of XI Legion the Space Vagabonds, they can adapt their tactics to represent any and every Legion and Chapter as needed because they were created by the Emperor to be the ultimate tactical power. They have faked their disappearance in order to infiltrate every part of the conflicts in the galaxy.

8000 points of Tau/Craftworld Eldar/Necron because the Space Vagabonds can also emulate their wargear and tactics.

Victories: ALL
Losses: NONE (My armies have the psychic ability to conjure a cataclysmic storm whenever they are about to lose. This allows the Space Vagabonds to teleport away while releasing power waves that destroys the battlefield and so every battle is a victory)
