Thinking of starting Dark Angels to keep up with my friends who use SM, Eldar and possibly Tau and I've come up with two lists to use at low points. Are these lists casual and competitive while at the same time remaining fluffy? Will probably get both at some point but looking to have a casual and competitive list for good codexes and not so good codexes.

Really want to keep the Librarian in both lists as I'm a huge fan of the Psychic Powers they have and also the Land Speeder Vengeance as I think it's a neat model (also Large Blast AP2 appeals to me). Elected not to use Grav as I don't really like the mechanic and generally like Plasma more.

I really like the Ravenwing list and cant think of anything id change for these points. On the cad list, plasmas are really powerful And id really be hoping to take out those rhinos turn one. drop pods on them would make them a bit tougher.

No do not build a land speeder vengeance. Probably the worst unit in codex. Everything else is great.

Instead of 2 vengeance how about 3 speeders w 2 HB and a Darkshroud. 21 S5 shots plus shrouded is pretty sweet.

It only gives stealth though, which is neat as you can use cover saves instead of armor if going vs RAWers.

A Darkshrould gives Stealth, but has Shrouded, meaning that in the suggested Ravenwing Support Squadron (as both rules only require one model in the unit to have it) a +3 to cover saves (i.e. Jink).

Anyway, with regard to the OP - you seem set on LS Vengeances, and don't let people dissuade you until you've tried them a few times, but please when assembling them keep the bits to make the 'shroud and don't glue the turret-y bit, so you can change them later.

If I had to pick one, I'd probably go with the second list.

i like the lists, only thing id add is give the lib shroud of heroes, then he rolls around solo with a 2up jink an FnP and am auspex to mitigate anything hiding from your plasma. and with the lib flying solo hes free to roam wherever you need your psychic powers or even to eat overwatch with his jink for your BK to rush in unscathed
