I've tried going on ebay for cheap and affordable terrain in abundance/packs but they are either individual pieces or just too expensive.

Are there any tabletop brands that sell city ruins or forest terrain for cheap?

Frontline Gaming has some nice city ruins, and they're decently priced.

What's your budget/price line? MDF/Cardboard terrain may be the way to go, as there's some decent modular stuff you can find.

Expense is a relative thing. I've found making my own terrain to be both cheap and successful in providing what is required.

Sarissa Precision, Antenocitis Workshop, Amera and Plast Craft all do a reasonable range of cost efficient terrain

Thousand Sons: 3850pts / Space Marines Deathwatch 5000pts / Dark Eldar Webway Corsairs 2000pts / Scrapheap Challenged Orks 1500pts / Black Death 1500pts

If you don't mind doing some of the work yourself, check out the terrain sprue from Spiral Arm Studios. Lets you do this sort of thing.

have you tried going to the pet section of a store and perusing the aquarium decorations? also, look you may want to check out christmas village decorations? as it is out of season, you will likely find it for quite cheap.

Very well-done, insaniak. May have to borrow some of those ideas when I start doing terrain.

Can't get much more low cost than plasticard (or plastic boxes)+the Medge terrain sprue.

My pick for the intersection of cheap/good/easy is Pegasus' Gothic buildings.

One box of their ruins will get you 2 decent L shaped buildings, each with a second floor.

One of their Gothic Building boxes will get you a pretty intricate building or a few smaller ones (or just walls)

And over time you can build a whole city

Or a stupid big tower.

The Warstore carries them.

I second Pegasus, they're pretty nice gothic ruins for what you pay for them.

Mantic Deadzone scenery is nice and not too expensive either.

I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples

If you're looking for cheap, Pegasus is a great place to start. Miniaturescenery.com is good for all kinds of stuff. They give you 3 ruined building corners, 3 levels (I think) for 20 AUD. Lots of great places to buy. Try EBay for some interesting sets.
