hello everyone, I am making a chaos army and had a question does gw make a troop that also has a firing mechanism of somesort, all the mini's I have are all equipped with swords and axes, do they make like bows or anything I can use?

Chaos Warriors do not have ranged options. Off the top of my head, Marauder Horsemen have some sort of range attack but it's a short range.

If your open to mixing in other forces from grand alliance chaos both daemons and beast men have some decent ranged abilities

Warriors of chaos are severely lacking in range, unless you use magic or ally some demons, beastmen, skaven, etc. Although, in aos, range is not overly powerful. Ranged units usually lack severely in the cc department too, so all you need are some fast units to base your opponents ranged squads to be good.

Get some varanguard. They are the epitome of everything. Fast, deadly, awesome ability to attack twice once per game. They will run down characters, ranged units... everything!

Chaos dwarf gunners.

Nothing wrong in using what ever. What some Stormcasts with ranged weaponry in your army? Go ahead and use them. I would love to know the fluff behind that and the conversions of that Stormcast into Chaos.

Then again we will have to see what this "General Handbook" says about doing this. After all, you know, some Nerds and Geeks will get in an uproar and say you can't just for "because".

So for now, you can mix and match to your hearts delight until some says you can't for "reasons".

You could also roll some Empire or Bret shooters in as cultists/chaos thugs. Dark elf shooters could also work as Slaanesh pleasure cult or Khaine/Khorne murder elves.

Ogre shooters, chaos dwarf shooter (either chaos dwarves or dwarves chaosified), etc. also give options

The hellcannon is the usual go-to for WoC shooting, though now you've also got Tzeentch daemons or Skaven nastiness or Chaos Dwarf guns large and small in faction if any appeal to you. Beastmen have ungor raiders and cygors as well, if that's more your speed. And of course spamming wizards is an age old Chaos trick when it comes to ranged support, and mortal wounds are real in AOS.

Ah, forgot about the hellcannon. If you can find one on ebay, thy do make an excellent ranged beast. I picked one up post oop and am glad I did.

I find you need at least one machine in your army that does not require line of sight to nail hidden summoners and things of that nature.
