To get feed back on homebrew. Maybe you or some people are very lucky to have a tight nit community to make house rules. I unfortunately do not.

Well let's be honest: 99.95% of these rules will probably never make it into an official set of rules for Warhammer 40,000, but as Grief said, most people who propose rules here are simply putting these rules forward for the purposes of perfecting House Rules that they use with their friends. And, if nothing else, putting up a proposed rule here allows you to get feedback as well as give other members the opportunity to go " Hey! That's a cool rule. I might give that a try with my friends."

It's fun to mess with a system, and like others have said I like to see what others think of my houserules. (I have quite a few...)

It works also to get critiques on possible rules and stats for crazy 1 off event units like characters, vehicles or weapons.
For example a while back I drew up stats on an Ordinantus Majoris I built and was gonna bring to an Apoc game.
It helped posting it on here to get some things like its main weapon rules (Sonic Disruptor), proper armor, structure points, points cost and so on and get suggestions and critiques on it before I showed it to my group.
I would like to note I built it before the 30k mechanicum got their Ordinantus Minoris Sonic Disruptor.
Its good to have a 3rd party look over the stats as opposed to say.... The guys who it will be crushing...
After some suggestions and tweaking on here I showed it to my group for the apoc game weeks in advance.

It is a rather frustrating space I must admit.
So many things that could fix a few glaring rules flaws.
While GW for the last few years have little interest in entertaining those ideas.
Plus a troll favorite space for saying "The rules are perfect, I am tired of hearing your whining, man babies, it is only a game of war dollies!!"
<sigh> The most positive use I would agree is fielding house rules or the better appreciated tournament rules trying to create that elusive game balance.
My rules lately is "make it like Bolt Action".

Well, I think the best use of this forum is to flex your design muscles. Learning to be a good designer means practice, practice, practice. You can read a hundred articles, but until you post something and let others see your work, it doesn't mean anything. I disagree with the poster that said 99.95% of stuff posted here won't make it to 40k. I believe that 100% of stuff posted here won't make it to 40k. Still, it's good to stretch those muscles and think on things.
Do you like designing stuff? That's a good enough reason to post.
Do you like imagining what the game would be like with those designs? That's a good enough reason to post.
Do you want to become a designer for ANY game? That's a good enough reason to post!

The purpose of this section is for people to present and discuss house rules for their games - whether that's to fix perceived issues, to introduce new units or options, or just to mix things up a bit.
