Had this happen on the weekend - player with a contemptor dread embarked on a Lucius pod. Pod lands and dread stays embarked. In the opposing players turn the pod suffers an explodes result.

My question is - what AV does the S4 hit apply to?

The only precedent I can think if is the storm raven which specifies it hits rear AV

seems to be that most incidental hits from a non specific direction hit side armour. I dont compare an exploding vehicle on the ground to falling out of the sky from a zooming flyer

"worst" case scenario i would accept is a random roll for front side and rear, account twice for sides as there are two of them.
