Is there any rules reason a Seer Council cannot take Jetbike upgrades? Battlescribe hasn't ever allowed it (at least it won't on my device). After my last update and discovering that once again this is still the case, I expressed frustration and a friend opined that perhaps it wasn't a legal choice.

Have I missed something, or is there just an omission on BS?

Read the datasheet.

It's abundantly clear there whether or not this is allowed.

I don't play elder but I just checked battle scribe on an iPhone, an android tablet, and a computer and all 3 let me take the jet bike upgrade.

I read the datasheet. You know, since I was trying to build the list and all. But since one of the most widely used list building programs out there continues to insist it isn't legal, I thought I'd see if there was something I'd missed, or some sort of ruling that made people believe it was illegal despite the formation saying the opposite. (Because it isn't like GW rules don't contradict themselves, and it isn't like it would be the first time the community interpreted rules to mean the exact opposite of what was written and/or intended.)

For the 'Seer Council' formation, or just for the Farseer and/or Warlock Council?

I'm sorry but if you read the datasheet you would have your answer. It explicitly mentions the skyrunner upgrade and clearly tells you why and how it is or is not possible.

I'm looking at it right now. I don't see an explicit permission anywhere to take the upgrade. I see that permission under the Farseer/Warlock individual datasheets, but the only line in the Seer Council datasheet is an if-then restriction, which is not in and of itself a permission.

If you know of a rule that I am NOT seeing that restricts the options, please point it out.

If you are looking at the restriction and think that absent any other restrictions, the permissions from the base datasheets apply unfettered, (and that Battlescribe is in error, despite the long time since the codex was released and the multiple times this has been brought up) then please say that.

You have permission from the units' datasheets, and an "if any are upgraded then all must be upgraded..." from the formation datasheet. What makes you think there's some kind of restriction to directly contradict that?

In battle scribe when you add the formation, it will show up as a seer council. When you select the council form the main roster list you can select the dot and it will pull up an options menu for a normal seer council or a skyrunner seer council.
