In a White Scars army, scout will let me move Tac squads with grav cannons up into effective range, where they'll enjoy one round of full salvo shooting assuming they don't move beyond their scout move (thanks to the Dakkanauts who helped point this out a week or two ago). So, with a slightly shorter range and three additional shots for 10 points, assuming the scout move gets the Rhino within 12" of the enemy lines, is a combi-grav worth it? This army will have 2 Dev Rhinos with 2 grav cannons each and 2 Tac Rhinos with a grav cannon and maybe a combi-grav each. Worth the points?

Yes grav is worth it because it is multipurpose. Kills MC, infantry and a tiny bit of vehicles.

Grav, being tailored to kill big expensive things, is usually good about getting its points back. It’s hard to say no to.

I'm normally not a fan of Grav guns on non-Relentless models as the combination of Salvo and short range makes it difficult to get maximum shots. However, if you're planning on being in the enemy's face and not moving then it could be worth it as you get around those problems. If you have the spare points it looks like it would be a good buy.

That's the plan... just scout up and unload grav insanity. I've got the bits from the Sternguard sprue, so I think I'm going to go for it unless there's a major points squeeze.
