Hi everyone, new here but hoping for any kinda help.

I use 2 different Iwata airbrushes, my Iwata HP-C Plus is 3 months old but starting having problems with the pressure on the compressor, for some reason when i push down on airbrush my pressure drops to 0 and sprays no air, cvhange the airbrush to my Iwata neo and it's fine, holds the pressure great, so i know its not the hose or compressor.

So i went out and bought a new needle and nozzle hoping this would sort the problem but i still have the complete loss of pressure :(

Anyone got any ideas what could be wrong with it ?

Thanks.

This Is Where the Fish Lives

It's either your air valve assembly or you have a clog in the brush body, probably in the little hole in the body where the air flows into the needle assembly.

I assume when you say "my pressure drops to 0" I assume you DON'T mean the regulator pressure drops to 0, but rather no air comes out of the brush itself?

If the regulator pressure is dropping to 0, err, I have never seen one myself but maybe the regulator is buggered and can't supply the necessary airflow and jams up, the air hose empties of pressure and so you get zero pressure reading. I've not heard of it happening in the context of airbrushing though, mainly when using reasonably powerful air tools that require a high flow rate.

If you don't mean the regulator pressure is dropping to 0, then it's probably the airbrush being clogged or the air valve not opening when you press the trigger.

Hmmmm....

Hard to tell exactly what is going on - but of the various spray/pressure/needle problems I have had over the years - usually the number one fix is to clean it.

Take it apart, clean everything - maybe even soak it for a while.
(I soak my parts in alcohol in jars sometimes to really get too them).

best of luck!
