I've been playing Space Marines for a while, and I love bikes and so I just want the most OP bike mess I can put on the table. The crazier the better. Chapter Masters, Command Squads, White Scar Librarius', Whatever power armoured allies. Points are not important, let me hear your suggestions for the craziest amount of biker characters one can put down.

Inquisition - 250 points

I don't think he would get my vote for sportsmanship playing that list.

Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.

Biggest weakness to the DA Bike stars is that a lot top armies now can ignore cover or reduce cover.

I run a IH Bike star using the Fist of Medusa formation, Command Squad with SS/Grav guns, Smashbane, 2xLibby conclaves. At least a 3+++ FNP for everyone

These are the components I run in my biker star (part of an 1850 list). 2+++ CM smash er to tank saves, 3+++ on the IH librarians, skilled rider, h&r and super jink on the RWCS, plus a bunch of S10 attacks from the TWC. I'm sure there are better ways to do it but I've had a fair bit of success running this. A total of 10 segments to split up in the end game too.

Clan Raukaan
CM - artificer, gorgon's chain, claw, PF, bike (255)
Librarius Conclave
• Libby - ML2, bike, stave (110)
• Libby - ML2, bike, axe (110)
• Libby - ML2, bike, axe (110)

DA
• Libby - ML2, axe, bike (110)
• RWCS - apothecary, company banner (170)

SW
WGBL - Thunderwolf, runic, PF, SS (165)
WGBL - Thunderwolf, runic, PF, SS (165)

I run my star with the RW bubble wrapped by everything else. You've gotta get through 3++ TWC or 3+++ libbys/2+++ CM before they start taking any casualties. Just hope you don't get hit by ignores cover barrage (read: order buffed basilisk)

I've actually played Aaron when he used that list. Pretty nasty, but if you play to the mission its beat-able. In our game I had a 2 point lead on him til turn 5 and he score domination and a bunch of other objectives and doubled his score, lol.

The nastiest bike stars will all follow the basic recipe of SM+SW+DA. There are, essentially, two ways to build it. SW detachment is always the same. An HQ of your choice and multiple iron priests, 2 is good but I like 3.

Then, either a DA "core" unit of a RW command squad, with azreal or sammeal attached. Gives reroll jinks, scout/H&R, FNP and other fun stuff, plus a +3" to charges. Then attach a librarius, either WS or UM for Hunters eye or Tigerius.

OR

SM "core" unit of a bike command squad (probably IH) with FNP and a Gorgon chain chapter master. Unit has ridiculous bullcrap FNP all over and stormshields. Then add Sammeal for scout, H&R and +3" charges.

Either way, the SW characters give buletshields and CC punch while making majority save worse for grav.

Now there are a few ways to tweak this, by adding cypher (shroud and H&R to a unit) or GK (Stern gives +1 invuln save with a psychic power). The best stars will find a way to include a librarius though, because psykers are amazing with the new powers. And its not hard to stack sanctuary. azreal, and veil of time for a 3++ rerollable on the whole unit. Have fun with THAT!

Personally I'm not a fan of adding characters such as Azrael, Cypher and Tiggy to the star as they significantly slow the unit down. WS librarius is a good option, but I prefer to take the librarius as part of an IH FoM detatchment with a 2+++ CM. If you're not limited to 3 detatchments you could ofc take librarius as WS anyway.

There will always be a trade of between unit-wide durability and speed. As mentioned above, including infantry characters such as Tigurius and Stern increase the whole unit's durability, they also slow it down a lot.

I find the star I posted above has enough high durability models to tank wounds that survivability isn't too much of an issue.

Ancient Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought

Spaz Wolves.
Main detachment - Wolves unleashed
6x WLords w)RArmour, Bikes, BPistol/chainsword
2x 5 man Blood Claw units (leave 'em in the dust or drop pod them up front)
Formation
1x Heralds of the great Wolf formation
Iron Priest on bike hellfrost pistol
Wolf Priest on bike Runic Armour
Rune Priest on bike Runic Armour Psyker lvl2

Get jiggy with weapons and wargear however you please.
Join Independent characters to heralds and turbo boost your way into your opponent's face.
Wolf Lords and Wolf Priest have a 2+ and 4++
Rune and Iron Priests have 2+ 6++
Herald's Special Rules
The Heralds themselves lose Independent character and become a unit with no real Battlefield Role status, in addition they also get bonuses as long as the priest conferring the bonus is still on the field.
Rune Priest - Enemy units attempting to target the Heralds during the shooting phase suffer a -1 to ballistic skill.
Wolf Priest - Heralds have It Will Not Die.
Iron Priest - Ignore the first failed saving throw made by a Herald each phase.

In spite of being a Space Mutt player I accept that the Wolf Lords don't become part of the formation or Heralds just by joining the unit.
Still, you have a deathstar that can turbo boost and jink, drops enemy ballistic skill when targeted during the shooting phase, carrying four 2+ 'Look out Sir!' opportunities that can put a 2 wound Herald with armour and invul saves, 'it will not die' and the ability to ignore the first failed save between a Wolf Lord and being blown to a fine red mist.
If you've got the models you can also throw in 16 fen wolves that count as wargear and D-weapon shields to make killing the unit that much harder.

I don't break the rules but I'll bend them as far as they'll go.
