Subject: Eldar Lynx in the new IA11 book has a typo

Do you agree that the Eldar Lynx in the new IA11 book has a typo stating that the pulsar weapon is only 24" range in salvo mode? The summary/appendix at the back has it at 48" range and the corsair version is 48" and is the same points costs and rules etc.
Clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks

Summaries are always considered wrong when there's a conflict with the summary and unit entry.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."
This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

I agree with that. My argument is however that it appears as 48" in two instances as compared to one at 24".

What makes you think its a typo?
Corsair versions of the vehicles have varying rules from the Eldar counterparts (Wasp Walkers, Warp Hunter all have different rules/upgrades) and the Eldar Lynx is no different.
Corsair Lynx 48" range on Salvo, can only take Star Engines and Kinetic Shroud
Eldar Lynx 24" range on Salvo, but can take all Eldar vehicle upgrades.

The similarities between the craft-world and corsair versions aside from the upgrades available are too striking to dismiss it as evidence of the typo. The two versions are exact copy and pastes, from points to special rules, there is no difference besides from the vehicle upgrade list that is army specific. If the Corsair lynx had an inexplicably twice as long ranged gun would you not expect a slight increase in points? Couple this with the listing of the Craftworld versions range as 48" in its respective appendix section. I think you can justify that there is two instances as compared to 1 of 48" range and that this is the proper value..

You're trying to justify using the Eldar version by claiming its a typo from "an exact cut and paste" and coming to YMDC to ask if we agree with you that it is a typo.
This is not a rules question, this is your interpretation.

Sadly I don't think anybody proofread DoM before it was released, the range on the Lynx main weapon is not the only inconsistency, you have the Dispersed special rule on the Warp Hunter as well.
Frankly I think it's quite obviously a mistake, but until it gets FAQ'd (from previous discussions on this in the DoM thread I gather it's a question that Forgeworld gets asked a lot and have said it is a mistake) you'll either have to play it as is or find a very forgiving opponent who will let you have an extra 24" on that Ordnance 3 D weapon!

As posted elsewhere... without having a look at the book to confirm, if it's the same weapon (named and stats) elsewhere in the book then it's likely.
I find Forgeworld rules often require a bit more RAI/common sense anyway, so that would be my suggestion.

IA11 has consistent inconsistencies, that makes me think it's possibly a thing that eldar corsair vehicles are slightly better, given that its always one way.
Personally though, eldar having a 48" salvo D twin linked is nuts. 24" actually makes it a risky shot to take

I recall reading somewhere a mail to forgeworld with some FAQ answers and clarifications due the typos in the book.
(wraithknight 18" jump, how to properly apply the warp hunter dispersed rule )
The answer was something along the lines that the Corsair version of the Lynx have the right stats and it should be a 48" range, but can't find it anywhere so we are still waiting for a definitive FAQ from them.

Yep i know that text and the image with it, but i also recall the Lynx one just i can't find it anywhere.
i just keep playing it with the 24" range tbh i found it quite a decent tradeoff 48" large blast Strength D vs 24" ordinance 3 twin-link D shoots.
