I've recently started a Mechanicum army and was looking at running them as Legio Cybernetica. How do people deal with Castellax not being able to score? Do you just run the minimum size squads and then take Scyllax, Thallax or Adsecularis for objective grabbing? Thallax seem good for this being Jetpack infantry and tough as nails.

I want to make them Dark Mechanicum and am working on converting Scoria to be my Warlord as he is amazing in game and in the fluff. What aspiring Dark Mechanicum player wouldn't want a father of the Dark Mechanicum leading his armies? But that leads me to a modeling question. Should I paint them as Xana or go for a more traditional red and black scheme? Would it be an issue seeing Scoria leading a Mechanicum army not painted up as Xana? Would it seem off to have a more traditional white Xanaite scheme with typical Mechanicum decals on them? I'd like to use Xanaite markings but my freehand sucks and lord knows when FW will put out a transfer sheet for Xana and their Knights. What are some thoughts on this?

I use thallax with plasma fusils as my scoring units. They can DS where needed and put wounds on just about anything. They're also difficult to take out. I like darkfire for the castellax.

I like 20 man Thrall squads kitted out ~ 120pts w/ fearless/+5 FNP.

Thanks both for the replies. I've been using Skitarii as counts as Thralls as I'm not wild about the FW models and the Skitarii can find double use if I ever do AdMec for 40k. I was looking at using them as allied Imperial Militia with Surviors of the Darkage and Cybernetics as this is closer to what Skitarii are and they're battle brothers with the Mechanicum at that point.
Not too much more points wise either, and they can take squad upgrades.

I've settled on Xana paint wise, now to just figure out the markings.
