Trying to be very competitive. Here's what I've come up with.

Imperial knight Baronial Court.

Knight Errant, meltagun, warlord, helm of the nameless warrior.
Knight Warden, meltagun.
Knight Crusader, meltagun, rapid fire battle cannon.

Eldar craftworlds - Shroud of Kurnous formation

Hemlock Wraithfighter
Crimson Hunter Exarch
Crimson Hunter
Crimson Hunter

So, I think that gives me a lot of flexibility. And with setting the fliers up in certain wing formations they can gain +1 BS, tank hunter and ignores cover. I think it's very powerful. What does dakka think? It's 1845 points exactly.

My one concern is the reserve roll - at 1850 points you've got three knights and that's it until the fighter wing turns up.

I guess with Air Superiority it's a 2+ so shouldn't be an issue. My brain wants some sort of reroll on it but that may just be paranoia.

Tactically, it's a good list. Come on in the Ignores Cover/Tank Hunter echelon wedge (forget the 'official' name) and you should rip targets a new one.

The Crimson Hunters will be stuck at BS3 against ground targets (4 for the exarch) but that's still 6 bright lances and 3 pulse lasers - more than enough to knock an opponent for six - and a pair of ignores cover D-scythes should take a nice chunk out of something important.

The big weakness of this squad - interceptor.

If you fly on and find yourself staring at a trio of stalkers, or an Early Warning Override battlesuit line, or whatever, you're going to take a kicking, the more so because the Hemlock can only get his shrouding power up after interceptor shots have already fired - and if he jinks, you lose the use of his guns.

At the same time, it should be fun to see on the table, and you have a turn of fire with the knights to suppress or destroy enemy flak threats.

Hey buddy, thanks for the response.

Yeah, interceptor is a concern. I have a friend who plays tau. He runs a lot of early warning override. To be fair, it's not massively impressive when he fires it. I think there's a few ways to counter hit, be aggressive with the Knights on turn 1, and get as in his face as I can. It gives him another worry. If he then wastes his shooting on interceptor the Knights should be close to making melee relatively untouched.

I can also deploy the fliers as far out of range as I can. And as they act as separate units I can jink each one separately. There's also the bonus that he has to pick a flier to fire at each time. So in all fairness, he shouldn't take them all down.

I know none of this is guaranteed. But it's worked for me before. I'm curious as to how competitive people think it is.

Hopefully the 'box formation' where you get a 4+ invul, IWND and interceptor just for kicks should hopefully help against ignores cover interceptor, and remember since they are basically 4 seperate units I'd imagine they'd just target the hemlock for the first turn allowing you to fight back with the hunters.

Hopefully you'll be able to use vector dancing to hug the board edge and maybe even be out of range of a few guns... In any case I like the concept of the list and will probably use the Shroud formation in my own 8 flyer list soon...
