Hi there!
Inspired by this image
Spoiler:
I decided to build my own Abaddon.
This is the result right now but it needs to be finished yet:

What I already know is that I will add trophies on his back. I'm not so sure about the cape and I will probably switch it with Space Wolves terminator cape, but I'm still waiting for the bits I ordered.
The other thing I will work on are the armor legs, I need to find a way to reshape them and I will probably go with GS.
Let me know your ideas about this piece, it would be cool to know your opinions!

Cheers.

That looks really cool!

to make the legs match more I'd definitely just use GS and maybe a few spiky bits of sprue? Not sure, I'm not great at GS'ing heh

Anyway will be very interested to see what else you come up with!

It's cool! You can make him subtly taller by adding a slice of plasticard under each boot, trimming it to size once glued on, then texturing with GS as you feel like. Makes a real difference on character minis.

I would definitely change the legs to Chaos Terminator legs or something. Otherwise it looks good.

I'm the opposite. I'd keep it as-is. But, I personally find the Chaos aesthetic pretty terrible. If I did Chaos I'd end up doing some rusty BaC units and leave it at that. (I won't mention that the sword above can only penetrate about 5" inches before it stops itself!).

I think the Cataphractii legs are much better, more subtle. Just please don't put him on a stupid 4" tall plinth of stone or marble. He doesn't need to be bigger/taller. He'll get the job done. Making him a bigger target doesn't improve his stat-line.

Thanks all for your advices.
I need to say i'm kinda satisfied on how the legs look like. They are not that "chaotic", that's true, but i think that adding some detail with gs could fix it. I doesn't really like chaos termi legs, the only good are those of the termi lord, and they were the only alternative. At the end I chose to use cataphractii legs and detailing them a little.
Any suggestion about the cloak?

Considering who is at the handle end of the sword, he seems a hacking kind of guy and if he stabs: I think he likes the bigger hole.
He would then hang-up his opponent in between those two sets of tines and use them like the head of a hammer till they fall off...

Well considering this is the original model:

I saw a couple good conversions that are helpful:

Good looking start for sure!

How has Abaddon not gotten an updated model? He should have had one back when the book specifically all about him and his legion got released. The fulcrum point of the vast Galaxy-ending destruction of all things apocalypse event in Warhammer 40k is a stunty little man in ill-fitting terminator armor with a chunky sword and a silly topknot.

Hi guys, here there's a little move on on my Abaddon.
I really didn't got any time to trying sculpt the legs but i received my wolf terminators cloak bits.
Here some pictures:

What I need to say is that the cape fits perfectly to the shoulder pads, thing that it's nearly unbelievable!
What do you guys think of it?
I really like it more than the standard chaos termi lord!

Stay tuned for further upgrades

I think it's a cool take on the idea. The wolf pelt is a bit too Space Wolf for me - but it's not my model, so who cares!? Nice job.
