So i'm building my first army and ill probably be playing a 750 point casual game against at least 1 necron player,1 space marine or CSM player, and possibly one or two other unknown players. That's about all the info i have for what i'm up against and i don't know what type of game we'll be playing but let me know what you think of this list/how to finish it.

>flyrant - TL devourer, lashwhip and bone sword, adrenal glands, regen, wings

>warrior x3 - rending claws, lash and sword x2, devourer, venom cannon, deathspitter, adrenal glands x3,

>gargoyles x30 - stock

That's 625 points and all the models i currently have (already assembled unfortunately so i'm stuck with this loadout at least in appearance). Not sure how to flesh this out and make it a viable list. I know i need another unit of troops and I'm unsure what to take. Also unsure if i should sub some of the gargoyles out for other things like thropes, biovores, gaurds, etc.

Also interested in building something along these lines or mixing the two ideas.

750 Pts Tyranids

Deathleaper - Flesh Hooks, Rending Claws, Scything Talons, ,

- Tyranid Warrior (3): Scything Talons(3), Deathspitter(2), Venom Cannon, ,

- Genestealer (5):

- Lictor Brood (3

Mawloc x2

Any input would be appreciated, keep in mind I'm totally new to this and haven't even played a game or finished painting the units i have yet.

I'm considering starting tyranids myself and list a veteran nid player recommended to me looked like this:

-Tyrant w/ 2x twin linked devourers with brainleech, wings, electroshock grubs

-Tervigon

-30x termagaunts

-Trygon

--745--

That list is pretty solid but is quite different to what you have available so sorry but hope that helped.

Any help is appreciated, thanks for the idea. I need to invest in gaunts as a nid player anyway so that's not a bad idea.

You need to pick your core. Personally I like either the two flyrants witand hormagaunts or warriors with two living artillery groups.

Basically I like speed so flyrants, hormagaunts and gargoyles are more my style,

tyranids are in a tight spot in the current meta...

there are only so much viable builds for them... unfortunatly CC units like warriors/hormagaunts and gargoyles are not one of em. if you juast wanna play a fluffy list with a friend you still can have fun... but dont expect to win much games against strong lists :(
i would suggest splitting the gargoyles into min groups and using em to distract / grab obj / harras enemy units

good units are:
malanthropes (better venomthropes, synapse + SITW + sporecloud)
30 gaunts (about third of em with devs) + troop tervigon (CClaws and/or elektrogrubs, synapse + SITW + spawn objective grabbers)
single lictors (for distraction and/or bringing in reserves)
living artillery node formation
mucloid spores (cheap troops to fill CAD's)
single zoanthropes (synapse + SITW)
zoanthropes with neurothrope leader
mawloc (to an extend... works best with lictors)
guard with haywireblasters (against vehicle heavy lists)
and last but not certainly least the master of desaster, the 240 point heavyweight champion: the flying hive tyrant with TL dakkaworms and elektrovomit
