Sorry if I spam up the forums with a few different lists in the next few days, torn between expanding my current MT into various inquisitorial branches or starting an entirely new force with a different feel, to that end I'm considering a durable force with plenty of vehicles, and no one does that like Iron Hands.

Fist of medusa strike force:

Armoured task force:
3X Autocannon, lascannon sponson predators 345pt
2x whirlwind 130pt
Techmarine, iron stone 95pt

3 strong squad for the tank/monster hunter bonus, techmarine hopefully repairs them and stay out of LoS as much as possible to give the predators ability to lascannon heavy targets and split fire the autocannons at softer stuff. Bit weary of sticking iron stone on him as he's an easy target but not found the points to give him back up. Would love to take vindicators instead of whirlwinds to support infantry but struggling to find the points also with the PoM not extending from transports I wouldn't be able to do the 12" cruise and blast, on the bright side whirlwinds give me some anti infantry.

1st company task force:
3x5 man sternguard, each with assault cannon equipped razorback 185pt each
Librarian Conclave
3x librarian, ml2, auspex 95pt each

Bit of a hangover from what I originally wanted to do with endurance powered sternguard speeding about in rhinos, but unfortunately the chance of getting the wanted powers are too unreliable, so will probably end up rolling divination as atleast is mostly good. At one point was debating sticking cataphracti captains in each squad for the FnP boost and Snp but can't stick them in rhinos then and I fancy tanks rather than drop pods. Other option is take 3 techmarines with servo harness and auxpex, loose out on dispel dice in psychic stage but for the same price it feels fluffier and offers a bit more punch to the unit, just not sure with the new FaQ whether I can take them or not as not taking extra techmarines in formations was aimed at Clan Raukaan rather than AoD, but I hate rule lawyering things.

Strike Force command:
Captain, Cataphractii armour, Gorgons chain, thunder hammer, lightning claw, auspex 200pt
Command squad, 4x grav gun and stormsheild, Apothecary, drop pod 240pt

These guys are a fluff unit pretending to be the 40k equivalent of medusa immortals, I know bikes are better but I think these guys will look cooler with boarding shields. I know apothecaries can take fancy toys now but haven't been able to find the points, on the plus side I think it will be cool to have a lightly armed medic alongside the big guys. Captain is smashbane-lite gives squad SnP for more effective grav and tanks hits with ability to reroll 1s on invul saves, if a target of opportunity appears break him off to smash it. This is a problem solving unit, other than extreme death stars these guys should be able to come down first turn and put serious hurt on a threat, down side is being the only drop pod it's each to leave them unsupport so some restraint will have to be used to deploy them without leaving them in the open with their pants down.

Tanks for any feed back, and stand by for umpteen lists for various Ordos detachments in the next few days

I like your take on the Command Squad/Smashbane. I think it'll be quite effective and I love the durability can't wait to hear how he preforms in Cataphractii armor!

I think if I had more predators I would run my list similar to this though I haven't seen/heard much about the Whirlwinds but I'm sure they're good. Interesting you'd take the sternguard like that as well. Also I think the iron stone is a good relic but you're right as someone has told me they can be a bit of a trap especially if you're counting on the Techmarine hiding to survive..

Otherwise I really like this IH list I'd like to hear how it works out for you!
