Hey dakka. I've been slowly working on my RG army, but I unfortunately am a bit of a magpie hobbyist, and I made a splurge purchase... Iron Hand Medusan Immortals!

I am planning out a (hopefully very) long-term list that I will build over the next year or two. My goal is to have a list that 1) is completely different from my RG list (tons of infantry, no tanks), 2) strong enough to not get blown off the board every game, and 3) very fluffy for IH.

Here is my proto-list as it stands. It is supposed to represent the bitter remnants of an IH company after the tragedy of Istvaan V, whose only remaining drive is revenge against those who betrayed them and killed their father.

Iron Hands - 2500 points
ROW Company of Bitter Iron (Immortals are troops, all units gain Hatred (Traitors), and Immortals gain Stubborn in enemy's deployment zone)

HQ:
Praetor – Battle Smith - 225
• Paragon Blade, Plasma Pistol, Servo-arm, Melta Bombs, Frags and Kraks
• Artificer Armor, Iron Halo, Cyber Familiar, FNP (6+)

Troops:
Medusan Immortals (10) - 315
• Volkite Charger, Bolt Pistol, Frag and Krak Grenades, PA, FNP (5+)
• Sergeant w/ Volkite Charger, Power Weapon, Melta Bombs, Frag and Krak Grenades

Land Raider Phobos - 310
• Twin-linked Heavy Bolter (hull), Two Twin-linked Lascannons (sponsons), Multi-melta (pintle)
• Machine Spirit, Armored Ceramite, Extra Armor, Blessed Autosimulacra

Medusan Immortals (10) - 315
• Volkite Charger, Bolt Pistol, Frag and Krak Grenades, PA, FNP (5+)
• Sergeant w/ Volkite Charger, Power Weapon, Melta Bombs, Frag and Krak Grenades

Land Raider Phobos - 310
• Twin-linked Heavy Bolter (hull), Two Twin-linked Lascannons (sponsons), Multi-melta (pintle)
• Machine Spirit, Armored Ceramite, Extra Armor, Blessed Autosimulacra

Elites:
Gorgon Terminators (6) - 265
• 3 Chain fists, 2 Power Axes, 5 Combi-bolters
TA (Gorgon), FNP (5+)
• Hammerbearer w/ Thunder Hammer and Combi-bolter

Contemptor Dreadnought Talon (2 CD) - 380
• Kheres Pattern Assault Cannon, Multi-melta

Heavy Support:
Spartan Assault Tank - 380
• Twin-linked Heavy Bolters (hull), Two Laser Destroyers (sponsons), Multi-melta (pintle)
• Machine Spirit, Armored Ceramite, Flare Shield, Extra Armor, Blessed Autosimulacra, Frag Launchers

So basically the list is 2 LR packed with volkite Immortals and a Spartan filled with Gorgons whose entire goal is to drive close and open-up on the enemy. The contemptors are there to provide some covering fire and backfield support. I know that this list suffers a lot from "all the eggs in one basket" syndrome. But I think it would be fun to play, especially because I'm presenting an AV 14 wall with armored ceramite and flare shields to my opponent.

What do you think?

I really love the theme of this army. Immortals were a heavy consideration on my mind when starting 30k hands. Gorgons ares just bad ass. I suggest targeting primarchs transports with the immortals and then deliver the finishing blow with either the gorgons or, better, sub out a kheres for a conversion beamer. That will give you some more oopmh you lack. Consider a Dorito dread for anti air. 1 Dorito and on contemptor with CCW + MG and Conversion beamer should do the trick.

This will make your opponent have to waste long range shots at two lonely dreads in the corner pummeling his army. If he drops units to deal with the,. the CCW contemptor should handle the task.
Thanks for the advice! I'll consider giving one of the dreads a conversion beamer. I could drop a gorgon for the points.

Any other suggestions? What about the load out for the termies?
