Beastmen were essentially the pests Old World, and because of this never got the proper attention they deserved as a faction. I was wondering if this trend has continued on into AOS, and if not, where would be the best place to read up on their current lore?

The only thing that I have seen in stories is that beastmen are actively fighting in chaos warbands lead by chaos lords. So they are actually in relevant fights instead of just raiding like whfb. I mean hell we just got Tzaangor models I am hoping to see more god dedicated beastmen.

Most likely to do with the fact that it's easy to mix units now. Since chaos warbands contain mortals, daemons and beastmen.

Instead of the same old warriors of chaos I personally think one of the beast things they have done to chaos is allowing all the chaos units to mix.

Aye I see. Just a note, did you intend to say 'beast' instead of 'best' in that last sentence because it's an amazing pun. I r8 8/8 m8.

Huh I just noticed that I did intend to say best. You know I think I am just going to leave the post like that.

I personally feel one of the worst things they have done to chaos is separate them into separate army books and codex's. Thanks to the grand alliance it's easy to mix guys together and it's represented in the books.

I haven't played aos but I have been looking just into the fluff a bit and they do seem to be a bit better in aos. I think it'd be cool to see a beastlord leading a chaos warband, like how a chaos Lord does. I mean doesn't matter who leads unless you do the work of the gods right? may have gotten an idea for my aos army lol

If you can beat them into submission (brawn or magic) then they are yours to command - there are plenty of reasons why a shaman, a chieftan or a minotaur would lead a warband

This is actually correct in one of the novels chaos warriors and marauders were sub servant to skaven since they were the strongest force there.

The Hallowed Knights chamber seem to fight them a lot in Shyish, the Realm of Death. Sigmar sends the Lord Celestant, Tarsus "The Bullheart" and his Hallowed Knights to seek an audience with Nagash so they can renew the alliance to fight Chaos. The audio drama is pretty good listening material. Even has Pestigor beastmen in it.

I forgot about that hmm considering the tzaangor I am kinda hopeful on the beastmen front hell we got a spell casting Minotaur for sliver tower.

I'd assume there would be something in the Godbeasts book. There is a formation from the book that is pretty cool.

As others have said they turn up in a lot of stories - they are active members of armies and are much more integrated into the overall Chaos narrative than in the past.

They are also pretty fun in game. Super quick (+3" movement from Bray Shaman, +1" to run, run and charge) and in between Maruaders and Warriors in actual combat.
