I know this unit was released a long time ago with IA13, but how is it? Hell Blades seem pretty capable of owning the air with the Helstorm autocannons and all the special rules. How have people who ran them found they perform?
I was thinking of taking two in my 1850 pt list with daemonic possession and helstorm cannons. Their role would be to kill enemy air purely then take shots here and there if they win the dog-fight.

I have one, and it is just amazing. For its points, I feel like it is a must have. Helstorm cannons are auto pick, possession is iffy. Its so light that if it takes fire, it will probably die anyway, so being able to shrug off shaken and stunned wont be needed. When I use mine, it generally kills something every turn with ease. Rhinos, other fliers, or just lay tons of wounds into marines if that is all there is.

The re-position ability is king as well, amazingly useful.

Its a cheap flyer that puts out a good amount of fire. Skip DP on it. It is best suited going after other flyers or popping light transports. I have never played using the new dog fight rules.

Is a single hell blade viable though? It seems way too squishy for that. It feels like they should come in squadrons rather than taking up a slot each.

Hard to Hit and its 5++ is generally enough to let a Hell Blade survive for several turn. Only when your opponent has actually anti-air does its flimsyness become an issue

Ok, sounds good, i'll take one, maybe two, no possession and definitely helstorm cannons.
