Hello,

yesterday i read the new Warhammer 40k FAQ and found this:

Q: Is the maximum number of powers a Psyker can use in their turn equal to their Mastery Level, or the number of powers they have (due to Psychic Focus they often have one more power than their Mastery Level)?
A: Unless explicitly permitted to do so, Psykers may not attempt to manifest more psychic powers than the number of their Mastery Level within a single Psychic phase.

After reading this i wasn't sure anymore about Ahriman's Black Stuff rule:

"It allows Ahriman to attempt to manifest the same witchfire power up to three times per Psychic phase"

Does it mean i can only use 4 psychic powers with Ahriman (like 3 times the same witchfire power and then one other psychic power)? or 4 different psychic powers (like 4 different witchfire powers, but every power three times)?

All the Staff does is override the number of times you can cast the same psychic power, from 1 to 3 (for witchfires only)

It has no effect on how many powers in total Ahriman can cast.

Yep, he's trash.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

Like you said a total of 4 only. So if you decided to do a particular witch fire 3 times, you can then do one final different power.

It's basically how it's been. Apparently there was some confusion and the FAQ just clarified it for the people who thought differently.
