Thoughts on Plasma vets running on foot and sitting on an objective with Forward Sentries and Grenadiers? I know the Chimera is generally how they are used just curious if anyone runs their veterans on foot.

I would just take forward Sentries and give them a lascannon and 3 snipers. With this setup they cost less than 100 points, are a threat to a variety of targets, and are very difficult to remove from ruins (without ignores cover weapons obviously). I love this little unit and they are generally starting to replace platoons as backfield objective holders for me.

Forward centuries have always been OK. Nothing special but something you can place on an objective and pretty much ignore most of the game as they'll survive for a while.
I'm not sure how viable it is any more with the prevalence of ignores cover weapons.

Running them forward? You're going to end up with a bunch of dead veterans. They're incredibly fragile even when with a chimera, having them on foot means they'll just die to bolters, which is saying something.

I sometimes run them with 3x plasma and tallarn desertraiders upgrade for rerolling 1's in shooting to avoid gets hot.
