Hey Dakka Dakka.

Currently thinking of taking Eldar to a tournament in few months time down at Warhammer World, it will be my first ever event, so really excited.

The tournament will be malestrom objectives with the event team deciding on missions and rules.

on with the list, this is just one of a number of lists im working on before deciding on the list I which to take, but would like any feedback.

The Warlock Conclave is a lot of points for what they will be doing for the army...

I regards to the Crimson Hunter, if you are scared about flyers then this is fine but with the new rules, it is really up to you because of how badly it does against ground targets with the -1 BS... It becomes a heft price for an average of 2 hits and 2 wounds... You could replace him with 2 Hornets, both with Pulse Lasers

With the Fire Dragons, yes they are very good and will presumably be taking on the knights that you may face. However, might I suggest you take a look at the Warp Hunter from Doom of M? for 185 pts or 200 with Holo-Fields you get a 36" range strength D barrage, small blast but has D3+1 shots. This would be far better than sending the dragons on a suicide mission, trading them and the transport for one vehicle or big walker etc... the Warp Hunter forces your opponent to deal with them while getting closer to you and your Wraithknight and mass shooting support from the bikes.

At this tournament, you may want to invest in the Void Shield generator (I don't usually) but in most winning lists I see, Eldar players usually have one.

But I am happy to keep offering different suggestions if you want them.

Thank you for the reply, I had never heard of this void shield, however after looking at the rules it does indeed seem pretty nice.

I think the wraithguard are a massive points investment for what will be a suicide squad, your EMLs don't do half as much damage as you'd like and are split between lances and skyfire missiles...

As a basis I'd go:

Thats a very basic/ tried and tested 'base' list that gives you enough points for either a Crimson Death formation for anti air/ anti tank (even if you are using skies of death they are great vs ground targets)

Or, an Aspect Host with 3 squads of Warp spiders (boring I know) backed up with a Void Shield generator with 3 shields.

Remember, you don't need holofields on everything (especially a barrage platform or underneath a void shield) guide + prescience on Windrider jetbikes throw up soo much firepower that aircraft can be scared of you... and that's if you don't land on a Skyfire Nexus...

I agree with Torus. I've run a nearly identical set up except using 2 Warp Hunters and a Skathach Wraithknight from the Doom of Mymeara FW book in a 1500 point army. It was very solid and had a lot of the tools I needed.

As you advised you are playing Maelstrom missions, I'd even recommend investing in 2-3 more bike squads with zero upgrades just to go after objectives and score points with minimal loss of firepower.

Guessing Deathshroud as it's the more popular one of the 2 with it's S7 hellstorm templates, besides I'm guessing the two Warp Hunters can pretty much murder any hard targets like knights whilst the deathshroud kills the squish stuff...

Yeah that is exactly why I have the Deathshroud version too haha.

Yes, the Deathshroud. With multiple Warp Hunters, that is your ranged Destroyer weapons for GC, MC and vehicles. The Deathshroud takes care of massed light infantry and can still act as a counter assault element.

All in all, that is a decent TAC style list.

Sounds like I will have to pick up one of these void shields at some point.

Been playing around with the list and as much as I agree the wraithguard are a point investment, I just love the unit as a whole.

I think this is the best list out of the ones I have shown so far.

It has some anti air, high threat targets such as the wraithguard and wraith knight and then little annoying units for capturing etc.

Really like the look of it, and as its my first tournament or event, did not want to go all out with formations etc so thought a cad be nice to use.

Perhaps instead of 2 farseers on bike, maybe just eldrad for fun with the wraithguard or 1 farseer on foot on telepathy.
