Thinking of getting some Blight Drones to support my Dark Mechanicus (i use the Renegades and Heretics rules)

They look good on paper (Flyers, Acceptable Armour (12,11,10),Shrouded via Daemon of Nurgle as well as Deep Strike and Hover)

But are they good in game?

Ive run a single drone in a few lists, and always been very happy with it. Its nearly unkillable without ignore cover weapons, and the battlecannon/flamer combo gives it pretty good firepower. At 150pts, its not broken good, but a very solid choice. Squads of them would also be good, but they get expensive fast.
Also remember that you may be hovering in ruins for a 2+ save, but be careful about getting assaulted!

It is one of the last good CSM units left. Saves you 20 points from buying a Heldrake and can do surprisingly similar things.

Anyone else remember when spamming Blight Drones was considered a really awful cheesy thing for CSM to do? They always came up in the "Why no FW units?" threads on these boards...

Blight drones are well worth it for the points. They're lower than most flyers and are more likely to benefit from cover without having to jink. The distance from their hull to the ground also makes taking/contesting easier. That along with hover mode.

Do you play 30k? It'd be a lot cooler if you did.
