Jealous that Horus is Warmaster

Hey Folks,

I've been playing around with some ideas (what folks in other parts of this site might call "theoryhammer") based around an observation from my Echo (Sensor Jammer, Recon, Decoy, ACD) & Epsilon Ace (Comm relay & Stealth Device) list that a VI Carnor Jax would seem to mesh well with the sensor jammer (I just need to find the games to test this idea).

But looking at the combo (and realizing how pricey Echo was getting), I started thinking about other possibilities with the Carnor/Sensor Jammer idea and came up with this:

100 points
------

“Redline” (37)
TIE Punisher (27), Sensor Jammer (4), Proton Torpedoes (4), Extra Munitions (2), Guidance Chips (0)

Carnor Jax (31)
TIE Interceptor (26), Push the Limit (3), Royal Guard TIE (0), Autothrusters (2)

Black Squadron Pilot (16) x 2
TIE Fighter (14), Juke (2)

I could also swap out the Black Jukers for Omega Leader (juke/comm) and some combination of stealth devices for OL & Carnor and another missile/bomb for Redline.

Comments, thoughts, criticism on both list ideas are very welcome

Two problems with this list:

1) Redline still isn't all that durable even with the sensor jammer. It works great on ACD phantoms because (effectively) taking away a red die on every shot often drops incoming fire below the zero-damage threshold. But with Redline you only have a single green die, so even if you negate a hit on every attack you're still taking damage and dying. And if Carnor Jax isn't within range to shut down focus you're taking damage and dying really quickly.

2) Carnor Jax is an obvious target, and without stealth device or Palpatine he will go down quickly. Once you lose your ability to shut down focus the whole list falls apart. But, as noted above, Carnor Jax needs to be in the middle of the fight and can't use the usual ace tactics of avoiding fire at all costs.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
