Alright here is more of an open ended discussion on how to run pask but more specifically his squad. I've been thinking a lot about how to run pask and I have landed on pask in a punisher with bolters all around accompanied by 2 vanquishers with Las cannons and meltas. 1 vanquisher is simply not reliable enough even with 4 tank poping shots so doubleing them sounds like a good idea. I don't like pask in a vanquisher simply because sure he can reliably kill a tank per turn but that's still just 1 tank per turn. To me he is better suited to mow down entire squads or give an unlucky flier somthing to be afraid of.

So there is my best take on it. pask hitting up infantry after splitting fire with the vanquishers. What do you guys think?

Vanquishers are decent choices for sure. I personally love the Vanquisher myself.

I'll recommend upgrading Pask's hull heavy bolter to a Lascannon. Gives him an extra high strength AP:2 gun to fire with the punisher cannon while looking for rending hits on armored targets. It's also the cheapest way to get extra Lascannons added into the list.

Regarding the squadron mates, my first suggestion would be Eradicators with heavy bolters all around for mass infantry death with 2x large blast ignores cover shots and bucket loads of preferred enemy heavy bolter shots. Also decent threat range with 36" on all weapons. Bonus for adding Heavy Stubbers into the mix for even more shooting.
This is a dedicated anti infantry setup. Split fire tank order and let Pask hose down one squad or armored target while the eradicators focus on infantry or bikes and the like. Ignores cover makes bikes nervous, after all. No jinking out for the cover save.

The other option I would consider would be Exterminators. Twinlinked 4 shot autocannons along with preferred enemy for the occational 1 that pops up on the to-wound roll. Once again, Heavy Bolters all around in the sponsons and hull, with Stubbers up top for added dakka.
This is more of a generalist setup. It can munch infantry, or shoot at light to medium armor, or even go anti air if need be. Eight twinlinked autocannon shots works in a pinch when shooting at flyers. It usually makes them jink if nothing else, which reduces their effectiveness.

Both of these options are in my opinion preferable to any others for Pask's squadron mates.

I hope this was helpful, and take it easy for now.

You don't know me son, so I'll explain this to you once: If I ever kill you, you'll be awake, you'll be facing me, and you'll be armed.

If you're using pask on his own (i.e. not in a formation) Then plasma/heavy bolter eradicators are a good standby Paired and shooting at the same target with split fire on pask himself, this throws 6 templates at a target which *will* kill something.

If you're going steel phalanx for +1 bs within 6, there really is no reason not to go all in on the punishers.

Some people find the idea that other people can be happy offensive, and will prefer causing harm to self improvement.

I always loved the Punisher. It's moderately powerful, and a lot of fun.

Pask is a badass, I always take him in a punisher as I think it gains by far the best benefit from his rules.
I load him for bare with double multimelta's and a lascannon not many extra points and means he will kill whatever he shoots at. Always add dozerblade and camonets.

Due to the short range of this weapon load out and the threat he presents I like to give him a cheap buddy to run around with, usually a exterminator autocannon russ with no upgrades, the exterminator can threaten most targets for when you fail the splitfire order (most of the time in my case . Utilise the squadron rules by placing this cheap buddy between the enemy that has the most cance of threatening pask and pask himself meaning that it has to die before pask can take a hit and if it does pask will likely gain cover from it.

Another trick I've had moderate success and fun with is running a small bullgryn squad in front of pask, their shield bonus plus camo nets and some intervening cover and pask is rocking a 3+ :-)

Have had a lot of success with the Leman Russ Exterminator armed with Hull Lascannon and Sponson Heavy Bolters or Multi-Meltas. Not only does it give you a platform that is reliable against a wide variety of targets but the twin linked often comes in handy even if boosted to BS4 from the formation.

Pask in a punisher hands down.

As his wingman I think Exterminators are a great choice. Gives some heavy shots with the Str 7 and they are twinlinked which is a huge boon.

The rest of the army really plays a factor in this though. Do you have Melta vets to take out enemy armor? Do you have wyverns to shred infantry? I think the Exterminator fits nicely in that it can fill either roll without costing too many points.

After that I would put any other LRs in your army in their own slot instead of grouping them with Pask just in case your split fire doesn't work you want to make sure you can select different targets as needed.

This is a really good point.

Personally I think anti-armour is better suited to low cost-spammable units. While the Pask Punisher can deal with pretty much anything.
