Been working over the last few days painting up my R&H army I have been working on. Really happy with how its shaping up.

Start it off with some rust bucket wyverns, raided from a long forgotten Cadian manufactorum.

Some before and after adding the rust effects, the left one has the typhus corrosion and ryza rust effect applied

A few medusa artillery carriages

A converted heretic sergeant/master of the horde/whatever I might use him as

And the coup de grace, my maggoth lord giant chaos spawn. This was my first attempt at something covered with flesh and I'm very please with how he came out. Just need to paint up the rider

And pretty much finished

I'll be updating this periodically as I do more so feel free to subscribe!

Looking great. I'd love to see an Army List.

Nice start but the Maggoth really needs it's joins filling with a bit of putty. It's particularly noticeable in the light colour scheme.

Yeah I was aware of that, not concerned enough to go back and possibly fudge it up by trying to fix it. Maybe I'm just lazy.

As for an army list I'm playing around with a couple at the moment. My main one being a purge detachment.

Arch-Demagogue w/ Ordnance Tyrant and Nurgle Convent
4 Troops Lasguns
2x 3 Medusa Siege carriages w/ 8 crew
2 Renegade Wyverns w/ enclosed crew compartment & extra armor to ensure they can still fire if attacked
6x 20 plague zombies
3 Rapier laser destroyers w/ additional crew
3 Giant Chaos spawns

Roughly 1500 pts. The play style is simple, tie up everything possible with plague zombies while the artillery pounds everything else to dust. If my opponenet is using a highly mobile list or is heavy with DS, I use a few units of zombies to bubble wrap my artillery. The Chaos spawn are in there mostly to be a big scary distraction and draw some fire power away from my big guns, not to mention if they aren't focused down they can be real nasty in CC.

I'll also use a variant of this with the Unending Host and usually swap out most of the zombies for renegade platoons. To be honest I think I have more fun with the zombie list as it keeps game time down (opposed to having to shoot with all the platoons as well) and having 120 fearless models on the board, however fragile, is nothing to scoff at.

For the gaps on the Maggoth you could run a pin wash of purple inside them. Then paint stitches.
Boom. Model gaps become a feature!

If you're generally quite lazy I'd recommend Vallejo's Plastic Putty. You can just squeeze it straight from the bottle and swipe it with a wet finger and job's a good un.
Much quicker and easier than mixing greenstuff, cures faster and is perfect for this kind of thing.

Not related to P&M, but someone brought lists up.

So far as the list goes, it's worth noting that Medusa's can't actually fire into CC even with Ordnance Tyrant. Unless something has changed since the original IA13 / big Siege of Vraks book they're not indirect fire and therefor are unaffected by any of the Ordnance Tyrant benefits beyond force org shenanigans.

They're also, imo, not as good as people make them out to be. 24" max range with BS 2 is extraordinarily iffy, not to mention that being totally immobile means you're severely limited in in their deployment / any LoS terrain makes them easy to avoid.

For the additional points that Medusa's cost it's generally going to be better to just double down on Earthshakers, as their immense range and benefits from the rules make them very strong. They'll be able to kill as much as the Medusas by sheer range, flexibility, and their ability to bring far more templates down before the enemy enters Medusa range. Still keep some Medusa to make people seriously think twice about getting near your arty, but don't go nuts.

Other than that I like the wyvern paintjobs quite a lot, and while I like the spawn I also have to agree with the general sentiment of filling in the gaps.

Ahh I was not aware of that. The medusa have 36" range however, no? I have been using medusa carriages exclusively just for the st10ap2 really puts a hurt on anything.

I'll have to check out that squeeze putty stuff, I just started to mess around with green stuff and it's a bit trickier to work with than I expected. I'm scared of screwing up the application of green stuff onto the gaps since it seems once you work it in it can be quite a mess to remove it or fix.
