hi guys, benn on dakka for a while, first on a blackberry and then on an iphone, dont have cell anymore so have to resort to using wifes laptop....problem is that as soon as i go to a forum i need to log in again , and it throws me back to the menu page where i am logged in... if i do choose a page i cant say anything ass i am logged out, when i do log in i get booted to the menu screen again. i have chosen the option of being logged in on this device but that seeems to be to no avail, anybody have any suggestions?

if your IP address or browser information changes it will log you out. If you are on a connection which changes your IP address a lot (routing you through a proxy or NAT), then that might be what is causing the logouts. My unhelpful advice might be to try a different web browser and see if that has the same problem?

I used to have HughesNet and it did this everytime until I switched services.

I had same issue if I didn't check the remember me in future or whatever it was called checkbox. Rather annoying as I was lucky if I could read one page in one thread before getting logged out. Have you that checked when you login? If not try if that helps.

Happens to me all the time on Android Chrome, and i think i may even do it on desktop. No other site does this. Frustrating as i'd like to help, give feedback and compliment peoples awesome work but this site is a pita! But otherwise a perfectly fine place to lurk

Google Chrome caches my data as being logged out. Its not too bothersome as my login info is also cached, but that might be the issue.
