Having just started with Guard I'm not sure how much help I can be but I will say the Vox Casters I've found to be very situational and have preferred to spend the points on other upgrades.

You should really have 2-3 Plasmaguns in your Company Command Squad. They have a Chimera and Carapace Armor already so this would be a great setup for them, plus it gives your army some much needed AP2. I would drop the Medi-Pack and Vox Caster.

I'd drop the Vox Casters from the Veterans and find some points to give them Grenade Launchers. Lasguns aren't great at 24" but Grenade Launchers are pretty good when paired with Missile Launchers (as both have Frag/Krak options).

The Deathstrike looks good.

The Leman Russ Battle Tanks should not have Lascannons - they can only make snap shots if you fire the Battle Cannon! Heavy Bolters or even Heavy Flamers would be a better choice.

Ideally I would drop the ADL and one Veteran Squad, using the points saved to give the remaining two Veteran Squads Chimeras and Plasmaguns or Meltaguns.

What is your team mate taking? This greatly impacts what you should bring.

It's random teams so I can't strategies but the set up for the vets looks really good.

Will the tournament be 2x2 players, or some other setup?

In general: drop the Deathstrike and one Russ. Give the Veterans Chimeras and melta/plasmas. Drop the heavy weapons. Add a Wyvern.

Give the HQ veterans special weapons.

Since the Battle Cannon of the Russ is ordinance all other weapons can only snap fire - so the lascannon will only hit on a 6. Keep the stock heavy bolter instead (or get a Vanquisher for long range anti-tank that you can pimp with lascannon and multi-melta sponsons, since it doesn't fire ordinance).

Now you have 4 chimeras that can kill TEQ and AV14, Wyvern can kill most non-vehicle models and ignore cover while the Russ insta-kill T4 with power armor and give an AV14 front. The senior officer can give Orders to his soldiers.

Another possibility would be to use a tank HQ. BS 4 and keeps the heavy slots open.

But I agree that a Deathstrike is far more uncommon/high risk, high rewards/psychological warfare than my vanilla suggestions.

Aside - why missile launchers on the veterans? Keep in mind they don't get automatic access to flakk missiles (you have to pay extra) so it's a bit of an odd choice when considered in void.

If you can, switch one of the russes to an eradicator to get some points for either plasma sponsons, or flakk missiles on the veterans. The loss of one battle cannon is more than made up for in ignores cover AOE. Maybe drop the medipack on the CS since if you need it, something's gone wrong - and the best way to prevent such wrong things is with more firepower.

Otherwise that's a decent list, might even try it some time.
